What the ex-employee says is true if you take into consideration what I went thru with Modern Vision Media and Mike Scher. I was an advertiser using them for traffic. Bad credit cards hit my account by an affiliate. Mike Scher promised to make my losses up to me. Of the $2,400 lost I actually got $500 back from hm. The rest of my money was kept by them. I know compared to most people hurt by this company my losses pales to them, however I was struggling to get a legitimate on-line business going and right when I thought I did, Modern Vision Media managed to bring me down to nothing, lost my merchant banks confidence and all my money. Sad, Mike Scher promised and never owned up to what he said he would. I am still contemplating filing a rip-off report to attempt to get my money back, I still have all the emails from Mike Scher assuring me the check is in the mail, they are cutting you a check as I speak, stalling me because he had not collected that weeks receipts, etc, etc. Lies, apparently all lies.

You could not be more correct. Mike and Gene are total scam artists. What makes it even worse is they lie to their employees who do the direct communication with the client, in turn making the employee look like a liar and thief just like Gene and Mike.

Be thankful you only lost $5,000! I know many more who lost much more than that! Sadly, most of them were employees who believed and trusted in them. One of their employees is owed over $15,000.00 and another over $10,000.00 from bounced payroll checks, and just plain refusal to pay.

They used the excuse that there was no money. But not knowing about their off-shore accounts, trusts, and shell corporations, the employees could do nothing but believe what they were saying.

I also found out from doing research after I left that they had not even paid any of the employees payroll taxes or unemployment taxes. So everyone who finally lost their jobs when the office closed did not even have unemployment to fall back on.

My next step is to start sending as much information as I can to the IRS to get them investigated to tax fraud. I have the proof they never paid payroll taxes!

But just to show the real people Gene and Mike are.... There was one incidence when payroll checks bounced for one of their other companies. Gene asked the finance person in the Modern vision Media group to write a payroll check to Gene's assistant Jenny to cover her bounced paycheck. The sick and twisted irony was the the accounting person in the Modern Vision Media group's payroll check had also bounced. Gene made her pay Jenny when she herself was sitting with a bounced paycheck on her desk.

This is how much Gene and Mike care about anybody they get involved in.

I too am another victim of the Sharewell Group/Modern Vision Media Owners, Gene and Mike Scher.

Here is a list of employees (listed by number only) & the exact amounts that Gene and Mike Scher owe them for unpaid wages. I am excluding one person on my list because she is related to Mike Scher and probably got paid every dime she was owed.

So here comes the very true and very ugly dollar amounts that they screwed their employees out of.

Employee 6 - Total Amount of Unpaid Salary Owed - $3918.71
Employee 7 - Total Amount of Unpaid Salary Owed -$7871.80
Employee 8 - Total Amount of Unpaid Salary Owed - $3510.92
Employee 9 - Total Amount of Unpaid Salary Owed - $3708.28
Empolyee 10 - Total Amount of Unpaid Salary Owed - $4741.16

The Grand Total of Unpaid Salaries = $92,434.09

Now that does not count the thousands they owe advertisers, affiliates and people who leant them money. The reality is they screwed everyone they came into contact with, caused employees to loose their homes in foreclosure, didn't pay any state or federal payroll taxes, and worst of all, don't give a d**n about the lives they have harmed.

Looks like he is doing well and has long forgotten about the people he still owes thousands of dollars to. Hope all of these companies he is now affiliated with know who they just crawled into bed with.

Here it is a year later after my departure from Sharewell and the Scam Artists Gene and Mike Scher are still in business and hurting other people. The list of former employees that gave their heart and soul to the company, only to be screwed, are still suffering.
I personally am owed tens of thousands and Gene Scher has not returned a call or an email in months.

So who are Scam Artists Gene and Mike Scher doing business with?

- Well apparently, well known Hollywood mogul David Berrgstein is financially supporting them.

(((Redacted))) is their accountant. Pretty much guarantee there have been some shenanigans here. I know for a fact that Gene Scher has broken a number of tax laws. Hell I never even received a 1099 or a W-2, and I am sure that I was not the only one.

Here are some comments on the rebuttal Mr. Badcub01 posted to the original report. Based on his comments, Mr. Badcub01 seems to be the Executive Vice President of Modern Vision Media.

Comments:

Reports of "bad traffic" (read "credit card fraud") were provided via email at least on 02/13/09, 02/17/09, 02/19/09, 02/23/09, 02/24/09, 02/27/09, 03/06/09, 03/10/09, 03/25/09 and 03/26/09. To the best of our knowledge, the "bad traffic" only ended when the bank finally froze the merchant account(s) due to the tremendous amount of charge backs.

2. Mr. Badcub01 writes "nor were we aware of the activity until we were notified by Premier Partners"

Being notified at least 10 times over the space of almost one and a half month should have been "a pretty good clue"

3. Mr. Badcub01 writes "he performed work for Sharewell Group that was never authorized by Sharewell Group".

Part of the work was authorized in writing (via email) on 01/29/09 by the Executive Vice President of Modern Vision Media himself. During the course of the next several weeks, additional work was sent over by employees of Sharewell/Modern Vision Media with the knowledge of the same Executive Vice President (he was cc'ed on the emails). At no time did the Executive Vice President ever indicate that such work should not be performed. When the open invoices for ALL the work were questioned for the first time around mid March, the Executive Vice President himself indicated on 03/16/09 that the invoices were approved, with the exception of one. Shortly after that the false promises started coming in from Gene Scher, president of Sharewell Group (approved, ready to be mailed, etc, etc ...). To date Sharewell/Modern Vision Media has paid $0, regardless of the fact that they did authorize work, regardless of the fact that they apparently approved invoices, and regardless of all the promises made by Mr. Gene Scher.

None of the claims and statements made were in any way false and can easily be substantiated at anyone's request. Mr. Badcub01, you can only stretch the truth so far ... until it breaks. if you want to take the high road and preach righteousness, we suggest you make good on your promises, and stop hiding behind your technicalities and your half-truths.

Badcub01, I mean John,

First off, I was not a partner in anything. Second, watch what you say.
Remember you play with pigs in the mud, you get dirty. I know you are a very smart guy, be careful not to say anything that could tie you to these guys when the feds come knocking. You were not there to see how it all went down. You do not know what happened first hand. You are simply parroting what Gene Scher and Mike Scher are telling you to say and they are liars and scam artists. Really good ones.

If you are going to be the company's spokeshole, you should understand that there is a liability to that.

If you want to talk specifics, perhaps you can go into the judgment against them by two ex-employees from the CA Labor Board, one that is currently in default. Or maybe the 3 (or more) pending cases in front of the Labor Board?

Perhaps you should go into the multiple lawsuits against them? Tell the audience all of that wonderful info. Go ahead and talk about the lawsuit they lost with a prominent DRTV company and received a judgment against them in excess of one hundred fifty thousand.

Mike Scher and Gene Scher are bad people who repeatedly assured many of their ex-employees they would pay them the money they owe them. There was no fraud on these employees part and for you to allege that should embarrass you. These employees extended their loyalty and trust and all they got was screwed. So here is some advice cubster, watch yourself, you are the next in line to be a victim of the Mike Scher and Gene Scher.

Pioneer Pacific List Marketing and Modern Vision Media will eventually fold under the weight of their fraud, refusal to pay rightful debt to ex-employees, and the IRS catching up to them.

Get out while you can.

IN response to the ex-employee, what is not said here is how their business partners and numerous ex-employees were truly the ones committing the fraud against them.

While these partners enjoyed having leased cars given to them and a constant cash flow from the Scher's to help them stay in business, they did nothing to ensure that the investment that the Scher's gave was protected and garnered any form of return.

This person, whom I am sure is one of those people mentioned, did nothing but take the Scher's for a ride, drain them of money and leave the company (and the Scher's) in debt. What business has been brought into the company has not been hidden or pocketed by anyone, it has in fact, been spent keeping the business operating and recovering from the losses incurred by the incompetence of those the Scher's trusted to manage to businesses.

As for the statement that the Scher's committed fraud against their employees, the California Labor Board ruled in favor of the Schers on 06.11.09 and as for partners claiming that they are due any compensation, there are legal and standing operating agreements that clearly state that no partner of Kingsbridge or Sharewell is entitled to any form of compensation until the company(s) show actual profits; which neither company did.

If this ex-employee actually feels that they have an issue based on supported fact, they are more than welcome to bring their grievance directly to the company's legal counsel, where it will be addressed in a real forum, not a web site that protects anonymity and allows any person to post statements in secret, whether true or false.

Mike Scher and Gene Scher are liars and scam artists. They also own Pioneer Pacific List Management, Sharewell Group, and Kingsbridge Marketing. Through these other companies that have left a trail of debt and lawsuits that is horrendous. They owe ex-employees like me, tens of thousands of dollars. One employee they owe over 60k. They continue to recieve revenue from clients but do no work. They even have worked with AIG and recieved hundreds of thousands in compensation, but rather than paying their employees, they pocketed the money and started this ridiculous example of an affiliate network. Bottom line, the law and the IRS are hot on their tails and doing business with them is a terrible mistake.

What this person fails to inform the public is that Modern Vision Media is an affiliate network. The claims of fraud and bad traffic were a result fo an affiliate publisher of our network, which was terminated for their actions in this incident.

Furthermore, this party was never billed for any bad traffic nor was the offending affiliate paid for any of their traffic as a result fo the activity, which was addressed as soon as Rudy or Patric made the reports of invalid sales available to us.

At no time did Modern Vision Media control the traffic sources to the product owners site nor were any of the fraudulent orders placed by or on behalf of Modern Vision Media, nor were we aware of the activity until we were notified by Premier Partners (i.e. Rudy and Patrick).

Rudy also fails to mention that during the relationship, he performed work for Sharewell Group that was never authorized by Sharewell Group, but was authorized by his associate, Patrick, who was not even employed by or authorized to conduct business for Sharewell Group.

It is very easy to place report on this site in an attempt to flame a company, especially when you are not held accountable for the facts. Considering the source and the reputation of that source, this is an easy report to provide factual rebuttal.
