Shell Lighting was a bad customer service experience. They don't tell you when you purchase something that it cannot be returned for any reason. When we tried to return a light, the clerk did take it and promised a check would be issued (they don't take credit cards). The owner overuled the clerk and they then somehow lost the light and claimed it was never brought back to the store.

We paid for a light we don't have and we have other merchandise we purchased that they won't take back under any circumstances. Very bad customer service!

Item never returned

On the bottom of the invoice we state that special orders can not be returned, if the fixture has been installed it can not be returned ,if the item is defective of course it can be returned.

We allow our  customers take home items for approval all the time, just return in it's  original condition.This customer bought  an item  in 2010 and said she brought it back early last year in 2012  ( that is about two years), before it was returned  we do not have a record of this return and she does not either, we sign for all returns and ask the customer to sign also


We do not take credit cards and have not for over Ten years we pass all savings on to the customer. We do accept checks,No one else has a problem with this,  she did not either, or she would not have bought her item that way.

How can we do a return with out the item ? we do not lose items! that are returned to us. no one in the store remembers this return. 

It is our store policy to require a signature i from the customer and clerk on the customers invoice and ours for all returns she does not have this and our copy shows no return, item was around $100.00. 

Customers states she has other items to return? this is news to us. we only know of this one.

With all respect to the customer, show me a store that will let you walk in and say, I returned an item a year ago and I want my money back, but I can not prove I brought it back.
