DO NOT give them your money. DO NOT conduct any business with these people. RUN the opposite direction! Here's our experience and review of this breeder: We Paid Joey Alaniz $1700.00 upfront for 2 unborn Black and Tan male German Shepherds. We paid in full in order to have the first pick of the litter as we were guaranteed.
This was litter "D" by "chevelle" born feb 26th, 2013, 4 females and 3 males.
Joey kept us informed throughout the birthing process and that's how we knew the amount and genders. After a couple of weeks, we noticed on Joey's website that the # of the litter had changed to 4 females and 1 male.
It turned out that 2 of the male puppies had died. Joey didn't tell us this willingly, we had to ask him why the litter amount had changed on his website. Also, This litter did not produce male Black and Tan puppies as was guaranteed by Joey. FYI: He has changed his website multiple times to reflect the many mistakes he had made with our transaction. I have pictures of his website prior to the changes.
Moving forward, Joey insisted that we accept the remaining black male from Chevelle's litter and a second black male from "Diva's" litter born on March 1'st, 2013.
We decided to consider the black males when once again (on our own) discovered that Joey had taken extra deposits from 2 other families for the exact same 2 dogs. This information was posted on his website. We questioned Joey about this issue and he said that he had promised the dogs to other families because he didn't know if we were going to accept the black dogs.
The problem with this decision on his part was that he had never discussed this issue with us. Remember, we paid him $1700.00 for the first pick of the litter. At this point we had spoken to Joey multiple times requesting a refund. He absolutely and arrogantly refused to do so and that's when he pulled out his next "hat trick." Joey offered us 2 Black and Tan puppies from a "co-breeder." A co-breeder? Where did that come from?
That was never part of the deal. He also offered us a $300.00 refund incentive if we would agree to this option, and then RESCINDED on that offer. He refused to give any us any co breeder information and admitted that he had only been in business one year (2012 litters). Today his website has a generalized statement of having 20 years experience. (I have the original).
We decided to consider the Black and Tan puppies co breeder option, ONLY if they were healthy. We NEVER agreed to give up the black puppies. WE were forced to try and work with him because he had our money and had ZERO intention on giving it back.
Joey was to deliver the co breeders black and tans at 8 weeks, and then at the last minute decided to wait until they were 12 weeks. In fact, he was supposed to already have those dogs in his possession, which had NOT. He had admitted that one of his own big dogs had been sick and that the parvovirus was an issue with his current 2 litters.
Mind you, at this point we had aggressively demanded a full refund again and again. Joey had numerous chances to do the right thing by refunding us in full.
Because we kept questioning him and were obviously disgusted by his poor business tactics (greedy behavior) Joey NOW decided that he didn't feel comfortable giving us the Black and Tan dogs, which was HIS idea to begin with. Was he serious? He wanted to deliver 2 black male puppies just to be spiteful...this was his solution to an ongoing problem, after all of the discussions and wasted time listening to all of his excuses?
As of today we are working with our bank and Paypal to receive a refund. FYI: PayPal does not offer protection on living creatures and they only give you 45 days to dispute. That doesn't work when you're buying puppies, since they have to be at least 8 weeks before they are delivered. Luckily, our bank is disputing this train wreck with pay pal directly.
We have been through hell and back dealing with Joey and Andrea Alaniz. They have basically RIPPED US OFF and still have our $1700.00 and we have NO product, AKA NO black and tan PUPPIES! Joey is very much a "salesman" and gives a great story, but he's a liar, crook, and thief. LOOK up he and his wife on publicdata.com. You will see that they are NOT to be trusted.
Once they have your money...they put you on the back burner. They also advertise as though they live in particular cities. In our case, his advertisement led us to believe he was in Mansfield, TX. He does the same for Houston, Dallas, Austin, etc. See his advertisement via e-bay classifieds. Then you find out that he's based out of San Antonio?
We are hardworking people, I'm an ER nurse and my husband is a Firefighter. Please take this information and run the opposite direction from this so called "breeder" business. We should have done our homework more thoroughly, but Joey puts on a good show. We were suckers! Learn from our HUGE mistake.
Anyone who has to talk as much, and boast about their own product as much as Joey Alaniz ,raises a RED FLAG. He even brags about the type of neighborhood he resides in, how much he is worth, and his amazing vehicle...wait for it....A "Hummer" folks! As if that makes him a legitimate business man? Unfortunately, we've had to learn the hard way. Don't be fooled!
