At first I started liking the company alot...however there were some red flags I should have noticed. I waited almost two weeks to get into a truck after orientation. I only got into one when another driver quit. The trucks are older and shi**y. The transmissions range from being either , 10-speed, 13-speed, 18-speed or Super10. I had truck# 2704. Their trailers are VERY shi**y. They have dents and jerry- rigged welding. They do alot of loads out of Crossett, AR for Georgia Pacific hauling mostly CTO - Crude Tall Oil. Not to be confused with Crude Oil. Crude Tall Oil is from black liquer extracted from wood.
The company began pissing me off with dispatchers not telling me about loads that required a pump knowing my truck didn't have one or catching attitudes with me. I picked up a load of nitric acid 60% concentration out of Utah one day only for it to eat its way THROUGH the trailer the next morning!!! I took all the necessary steps. No one got hurt but I didn't get paid for handling the situation.
I then get directed to the main terminal in Harrisburg, OR for a silly meeting that lasted only minutes. I wasn't at fault for anything. However I sat for TWO WEEKS waiting on a load. I would of quit after waiting two days but I had my cats with me at the time. I never got paid AT ALL for sitting for two weeks in their equipment.
The final nail(s) in the coffin for Team Transport came with an early thanksgiving gift courtesy of the MISSOURI HIGHWAY PATROL. I pull into a weigh station. My weight was legal. However, the officer pulled me in. Her reason was that she needed to pull in a placarded, hazmat truck to complete her training!!! Well as she was letting me go after her initial inspection, her supervisor with a strong background as mechanic arrives. He begins eyeballing defaults and does his inspection. In the end the company paid for someone to come out and fix all the defaults but i get hit with a ticket for SELF-ADJUSTING BRAKES!!!
When I arrive to the customer with the same load. His first words were how were you going to to pump off the load....my truck had no pump....dispatch's fault AGAIN!!! I had to wait a day for an owner op. with a pump to get unloaded. Another dispatcher then calls me back talking sh&t about when i plan on delivering the load when the owner op. arrived. I retorted to him that I had to wait a whole day for him to arrive. Then he says to me if I don't deliver it I WON'T GET PAID FOR THE LOAD. Well lo and behold that dispatcher got fired but i still didn't get for the two weeks I sat AND for that load I just mentioned. It was from the south part of Indiana to Catoosa, OK.
They do f**k over owner ops too. They will force you to buy their plates rather than use your own. They will give shi**y loads and they pay owner ops weekly buy percentage. THEY WILL NOT PAY YOU FOR DEADHEAD MILES if you are an owner op. Company drivers are paid by the mile, bi-weekly on the 7th & 22nd. They do not provide travel expenses back home if you leave them for any reason.
In conclusion STAY THE F**K AWAY FROM TEAM TRANSPORT/ SHERMAN BROS. HEAVY TRUCKING.
I'm glad Ripoff Report doesn't remove sh*t. On trucker's report they remove and hide info for a short while about info on a truck company. Representatives masquerading as drivers, representing the companies that truckers are complaining against lurk on trucker's report. You'll notice that they always have cheerful things to say about a company that everyone has serious grievances against.
Sherman Bros. Heavy Trucking/Team Transport did have reports against them on trucker's report but they were suppressed. Now they have one the RipOff Report and it DEFINITELY WON'T BE SUPPRESSED.
I don't want ANYONE to make the same mistake I made. There ARE good truck companies out there. A big company doesn't mean its all good. A small doesn't its all bad. Even with research you won't know something till you make a move.
With that said...please STAY THE F**K AWAY FROM SHERMAN BROS. HEAVY TRUCKING/ TEAM TRANSPORT!!!

Hello Truckers an so forth to start off Im not a writer so there for I will not be adding periods etc
To start off YES Im an owner op for this company or lease driver I enjoy my time here yes I bought a truck yes I like my truck ................ No I was not forced to buy anything it was my choice they put tags an Ins in your name so you can have a feel for what you will be paying for in the future an to teach you what you need to know about paperwork in the future to come... Now what this driver is saying is he is full of it If he had any knowledge on pulling a tanker he would know ask these questions before a load Hell having a pump would be in the comments at the end of his OBC dispatch Now his Dot inspection as part of a safety check is brake inspection an inspection of the truck it is the drivers fault for not finding these things an pointing them out to mechanics yes they are old trucks that was owned by Lees trucking but the previous owner well maintained his trucks I know I worked for him its drivers like this very one that didnt help take care of the equipment as for cats Sir I drove your truck to crossett after you left it smelled like a litter box what proffesional driver carries 8 cats in one truck if you was driving for me I would have fired you an told you to open your own cat kennel driving is not where you need to be......... Im payed very well I take care of my equipment I conduct myself in a very professional matter an I have for the last 22 years ... As everyone knows companies are not perfect they all have there faults but the accusations that this so called driver has made some may be true but most are I was fired so I will down grade the company because it makes me feel better.... So to all those drivers make your own choices be safe on the road an God Bless
