I was laid off from work last October. Since then besides being on unemployment I have been vigorously looking for a job. On April 19 I noticed a job with Ship-Express Inc for a shipping coordinator for which I applied to get some, part-time income. The website which I have enclosed copies of seemed legitimate and the items I was shipping were allowed legally to be shipped to these countries. I applied for the position on April 19 and spoke with John Watson from the company. On April 22 they told me they were verifying my information so I could begin my probationary period in approximately 2 days. On April 30 they notified me that the first parcel was on its way to me for me to reship. When the items arrived I removed all the excess packaging, re-insulated them, and repacked them into flat rate express boxes to be shipped within 24 hours. During my time with them I sent five shipments (two shipments with one item per box & three shipments with two items per box) to the address that they provided me. They paid me for the expense of shipping and were going to pay me $25 per shipment for the labor of repacking, filling out appropriate documents, sending in the post office, and forwarding receipts and return.
On May 11 I e-mailed them because of a Visa bill arriving at my home address to a name used on their packing slips and I asked them to stop this from happening. They assured me they would take care of this and it was an accident. On May 14 I e-mailed them again because of more bills arriving at my home address with the same name they used in their packing slips. On May 15 they let me know that this was an accident and it would be corrected. During my time with this company my instructions were that I was to log onto their site every day to check in. On Monday, May 20 the site would not accept my password and I notified them by e-mail and never received a reply . On May 21 I was called by a person named Lauren from the Dell computer company who asked me about a shipment that I had received and asked me to return it. I told her about the company I was working for that forwarded shipments. Lauren told me that this was fraud and then I was scammed on the Internet. Lauren then wanted more information and I needed to verify her identity before I felt comfortable to release the information and asked to call her back at Dell. I did call back and verified that Lauren does work for Dell. Dell left the following claim number which was 20130517-APP-15512. I have copies of all communication with this company:
- Copies of e-mail correspondence with this company
- Copies of receipts and documents for all the shipments done for this company
- Copies of the website of this company
- Copies of some of the packing slips that came with the products
- Copies of the credit card mail sent to me
- Copies of the PayPal receipts of the money forwarded to me for postage
So far I lost $250.00 from this site. Could be more. time will tell. They will not respond to my emails. My password no longer works to access. Ship-expressinc.com website remains open to prey upon more innocent victims. They are advertising for more shipping coordinators. Careful you could lose a lot of money. I have been told they are also involved in credit card & identity theft
