On Dec 7, 2008, I ordered a 60 inch widescreen tv from ShopNBC. The next day I found it $100 cheaper on another web site. Silly me called ShopNBC to see if they would issue a refund for $100 or give a credit for a future purchase. No way! I then tried to cancel the order; they told me to I had to wait 24 hours.

In 24 hours when I called back, they told me too late that they had sent the email order to the vendor and if I wanted to cancel that I would have to pay return shipping fees and possibly re-stocking fees. I then decided to only cancel my two year extended warranty on the tv with ShopNBC (because I now had little faith in them honoring it) but decided to go ahead and keep my tv order since return shipping would eat up any savings buying elsewhere.

I then got an email on Dec 10 saying the tv had been shipped the day before. Well ten days later I still had no tv but have a 1500.00 charge on my credit card. When I called ShopNBC on Dec 19 to ask them where the tv was they said the order had been cancelled. I told them I had never cancelled because their customer service had told me I couldn' t break an ordering contract with them without paying reshipping fees.

I also told ShopNBC customer service that I had never gotten an order cancellation email. They seemed surprised and had no explanation. They also refused to issue a credit card refund until the shipper sends notice of the television return.

I immediately got off the phone and called my credit card company.

Thankfully my credit card company was understanding and supportive of me when I explained the problem. Even though I have to wait 15 days days for a credit with them; they assured me they would dispute the charge with ShopNBC.

I will never order from ShopNBC again. What a nightmare.
