Husband and I finally noticed a charge from "Simple Escapes" on our credit card statement. We called the credit card company and they could not tell what the charges were for and where they initiated. We had been getting a monthly charge for mostly $14.95 and two were for $89. None of these charges were authorized, however in retrospect, I did open a letter stating my membership or something of that nature was being automatically renewed. I had no idea what it was in reference to, but when I called the number, got no option to cancel. I have a feeling that was what it was. We cancelled the credit card entirely, but doubt if we will be reimbursed for any of the charges. Hard to get retribution from a thief, I think. This has to be a totally illegal scam and I can imagine the millions bilked out of unsuspecting people. I don't remember ever joining Classmates.com and haven't purchased anything from Domestications in a very long time. I may try calling Simple Escapes, for whatever good it would do. I would find it quite maddening to talk to anyone if I actually got a live body at the other end. These people have no shame.
