I was filing for a state tax Id number. I filed with simple file and didnt realize it was a federal Id number that i had filed for. I already have a federal Id number so i called simple file about 40 minutes after I applied online and told the woman that I already had a federal Id number I was meaning to get a state number and she told me that they check the irs database for numbers before they process and if I had a number it wouldnt have gone through. i told her I just got my federal number today online from another website. she said that is why it didnt stop processing. I asked how do I fix this cause now I have two id numbers and you have charged me 187.00 when I already had a tax number and I want a refund. she told me I have to wait to get the two numbers in the mail and cancel the one. I told her ok how do I get my money back she said they will not give a refund. she then told me I shouldve cancelled before the transaction went through. I told her i got on the phone as soon as I realized and it hadnt even been an hour since i put in the order. she said well it was too late they already put it through. I told her I want to talk to her boss and she told me that was impossible and that she is the only person who deals with the customers. she would not allow me to talk to anyone else and threatend to end the call two or three times telling me there is nothing she can do for me.

I’m not sure how our Federal Tax ID document preparation and
filing service could have been mistaken for a state tax ID service. We display
SimpleFilings and Federal Tax ID prominently at the top of every page
throughout the process. But it looks like no refund was given because the
service had already been completed as requested. The ID we delivered to you was
issued by the IRS. And if they also issued another ID for the same business in
the same day due to your order from another website, there would have been no
way at the time to know which one they would ultimately flag as a duplicate and
cancel. If that were to happen, it would usually happen within 15 days of the
completion of the order, and we will contact you directly to tell you more
about it.
