In addition to the plethora of information provided by Geoff regarding Simple Escapes on 1/4/2005 at 10:10:21PM (Good job, Geoff!), know that MWI aka MemberWorks Inc., now known as Vertrue, is incorporated in Delaware. (There is also a MemberWorks Canada LLC incorporated in Delaware?)
Some additional programs they "offer" are:

(They'll be targeting, er, marketing, a "health plan membership" to Hispanics in the near future.)
When you call:
1. Respond to the prompt for a "membership number" by simply pressing the pound sign to get through.
2. Make sure to demand a FULL refund AND CANCELLATION of the "membership."
3. Ask the rep what company gave your info to them, because it was THEIR telemarketers or order takers who got you into this mess.
The first three letters preceding the program name that appears as a charge on your credit card, hints at from whom your credit card information was gathered. For me, it was "HDI SimpleEscapes" and the rep told me HDI stood for Hanover Direct, Incorporated (the parent company of Improvements, the catalog from whom I had purchased items in October.)
Don't forget to dispute the charge with your credit card company.

Since I am not allowed to add certain links, you'll have to do your own internet searching to find the (Florida and California) lawyers who are gathering information for class-action lawsuits against Vertrue aka MemberWorks aka SimpleEscapes.
