I'm posting an email that I just sent to the Singer Company on this product. Their advertising is fraudulent, no matter how you look at it.

email sent on 8/27/2005 - will update if I get a response from them.

I saw the infomercial about the Lazer Storm and was just about to order it when I realized that you are conducting false advertising. False advertising will blow trust out the window in all of 30 minutes. This could be a simple Marketing miss, but it's a big miss in my mind. My trust in your company products has gone from 10 to zero in all of 30 minutes.

Here are the specifics of the ad. The ad tells me that I "won't even pay $100" and then boasts 4 easy payments of $39.95 (almost $160) and then it says call now and you'll only make 3 payments (total of about $120) plus I have to pay shipping and handling. How is this not paying even $100? Yes, I would get two machines and a steamer, but still how is this not paying $100? This is a blatant lie.

If you're going to lie to me about the pricing, then I can only assume that you're lying about the product. I was looking to soon purchase another sewing machine, as I have always trusted Singer machines, but I guess I will now be taking another look at the quality being boasted on the sewing machines too.

Well, being that I like to do my due diligence and researched your web site where the only contact I have is through this email form that will probably not even be taken seriously. But I also found some information on your Lazer Storm Customer Service on ripoffreport.com.

Good luck with this new product and any future products you develop. I won't be relying on the Singer name any longer.

Fortunate for you, you caught the deceptive advertising before ordering. I didn't and it took almost 3 months to get my money back from my bank by filing an investigation. Not only did they lead me on to a more expensive price for the "free" 2nd vac and steam cleaner, they charged my account almost $200 more than the "agreed upon" price when finalizing the order. Then, in addition to this discrepancy, I never received the products I was charged for. AND, I too will never again by ANY Singer product and have faithfully vowed to inform anyone else who will lend me their ear! Singer SUCKS! They should be put out of business and the public should be made aware of just how shady their business practices have become.
