Since we have many different levels of membership, our fees depends on how long you want to do our program, and or how many people you want to meet Until we've had a chance to meet and screen a potential member in an interview, we are unable to quote any fees over the phone....."
Does that sound familiar? It is part of the rebuttal pitch that I was to respond with for any questions about pricing. Before I even got into the pitch to set an appointment, we had to pre screen for employment, income and finances. Was told it was to make sure to weed out gold diggers for the professionals that our services catered to but was actually to make sure they had money to be taken. Was told the older the better! When I first started they would only give me the leads from internet sites of individuals that made at least 25,000 or more- as I got better then they would up my commission by providing leads to the higher paid. I believe they actually had a sliding scale for their fees to fit the income level of each client. That would explain the more commission from the higher income clients.
Did you ask to be put on the do not call list? We are instructed to NOT EVER click the DNC button on any profile but to just file them in to be called back in 1 month because "they'll change their minds" When our auto dialer was running low on new leads. DELL, a manager, would go to a file cabinet in the back and pull out files that had notes all over them sometime from 3-4 years back that said the individual wanted to be placed on the DNC list. We were instructed to call them and boast that if they were still single after all that time- then they truly needed our professional services.

Yes, they screwed me out of a job, and out of my commissions.But, the first week I was out of training, I set more appointments than most in the office, even though I was still learning. My numbers were very close to the office veterans! But I know that they always kept me sitting next to DELL. And I know he didn't like me, I didn't really think much because I was just there to do my job of screening the potentials for their financial ability to be played- and I know I did a great job, it was just my ethics that made me look into this company becuase of our instructions on the DNC list, and after I saw the reports from eldery that guerilla sales techniques were used on them- I just can't be a part of that! I am now working with the FTC to shut these guys down!
If you have any evidence, whether they got your money and set you up with a married guy, or if you have been hounded by phone from them for a few years even after you have said "please put me on the DNC list"- Please let the Federal Trade Commissioners Office know. She is very caring and nice, and will listen to your every detail provide you genuine reassurance that they are diligently working to build a nice fat case that they wriggle out of.
They are investigating, and hopefully Mrs. Charlee and her numerous associates will be fined, shut down and put in prison for this racketeering they have been doing for almost 30 years! But they need your evidence, and maybe when it goes to court you can be awarded restitution and peace of mind that these guys are not going to shut up any more elderly- who they mainly prey upon- into a small conference room for 5 hours until they pay thousands for the freedom to leave!
