I followed Nigel Goldman while he traded the Beat the Broker competition on REM Radio (now Talk Radio Europe) in Spain. This was a competition that was entered by over 730 traders, and basically a London trading platform called CCC gave the traders $100,000 to whirl around the futures markets for 6 weeks. The winner received, I believe, a prize of 10,000 Pounds.
Nigel Goldman called the market spot on at the time, and as I recall this was the start of all the volatility in the oil and precious metal markets.
He turned his $100,000 into $2.7 million, and won the contest. I and some friends then opened an account on a spread betting platform in London, and gave Nigel Goldman the password to trade the account. He quadrupled our money within a year. From our point of view, his Ripoff of the brokerage platform is legendary, and that is why we have decided to include him in your Ripoff Report
