SkyBox TV SKYBOX TV IS A HUGE RIPOFF - PLEASE BEWARE consumer rip-off fraud Duluth Georgia

I ordered a Dish Satellite from SkyBox TV for $39.99 and after waiting almost two months, I finally received just a certificate. I then called and asked them if I could return the certificate, because as I had told them before I did not want the Dish if I could not get the local channels, and after calling the installer, found that I could not do so. John gave me the name of Kailey Smith and the address in Duluth, GA to return the certificate to, which I did. I kept copies of same and sent it through the USPO using the delivery confirmation method. It was received at 2 PM, 12/24/01. I was told my account would be credited for the $39.99. Then when I received my checking account statement I realized they had on 2/21/01 taken $189.00 from my account. When I called John again, all upset, the first thing he said, "Was the amount $189.00?" How quaint that he got the amount exactly correct - surprize, surprize! He said it would be taken care of, both the $39.99 and the $189.00 charges. I waited two weeks for this to happen and again I called and got Derrick this time. He saidmy refund request was in the computer and my account would be credited. He also said that if there were any other problem, to call and talk only to him next time. I was hoping there would not be a next time, but now I just get a recorded message and no email answers either.

My question is what can I do to recoup my loss. Because I used a checkcard, I was wondering if I have any recourse with the bank and also I was wondering if anyone has contacted the Georgia Attorney General's Office for Consumer Fraud or the Better Business Bureau in Atlanta?? This is absolutely the last time I order anything at all from email ads!!! We now are very happy with our Direct TV satellite, which we bought and had installed locally. A lesson well learned!!!
