The above text was copied directly from an email I received on 5/17/2012 from Sleepys. I responded to the email but I yet to hear a response and that was a week ago. I was surprised that they would have the nerve to send me this email. I purchased a Sleep To Live King mattress set on 7/1/2009 and the mattress has been examined three times for compression. A $2500 mattress should not compress!!! Not in the 1st 6 months, nor in the first year. It was so bad we had to go buy a mattress topper to alleviate the pain & non-existent support.
I have tried for several years to get Sleepys to replace the lousy mattress I bought @ their Boonton, NJ store. It was the most I have ever paid for a mattress and the absolutely worst one I have ever slept on. (Still is! I've had 3 back operation in the last year so comfort is especially important for me.) This was after we fell for the scam of the computerized comfort analysis bed that's in the showroom. Sadly, we were duped into buying based on the hype.
All of the mattress inspections have been disappointing as their people say the manufacturer's warranty prevents replacement unless there is a 2" compression. That is ridiculous! If a mattress is compressed more than 2" it should have been replace a long time ago. This piece of crap started to compress within a few months of purchase which should never happen. ( I also have to tell you that this was the 3rd mattress set I purchased from Sleepys that I had to replace! And with each replacement, we paid more for a new mattress. What does that tell you about the products they carry??) A truly upstanding company would replace the mattress as a courtesy to a longtime customer and take the financial hit. Jeez! What's a couple of thousand dollars to a multi-million dollar company????
I was a loyal customer who purchased, 2 mattresses in their Toms River store and 7 in their north Jersey stores (Wayne & Boonton) not to mention a bed frame & collapsible bed.
I will not, ever, buy from them again. I tell anyone who asks me my story and very strongly discourage them from ever stepping foot in a Sleepys showroom. Frankly, I recommend they go to Macy's, where they truly value loyalty and will refund every dime paid rather than a credit that has to use in their store...unlike Sleepys. Go anywhere but Sleepys.
