In March of 2009 my boyfriend and I went to see Mr.Steve Scharf with Smart Solutions to help us with credit repair so we could raise his credit score to purchase a home. Mr. Scharf said he could help us , but it would cost $500.00. We paid him the money through 2 bank drafts over a 2 week period. At that time he claimed he would be able to repair my boyfriends credit report by removing all the negative student loan delinquencies within a 2 week period and all of the other negative items on his report would be removed with 30 days. All we would have to do is mail out the paperwork that Smart Solutions would compile for us and then wait for letters from the credit bureaus to make sure it had been removed.

Well, weeks went by with no reponse from Mr.Scharft or his company until I finally called and and his VP, Michael Hathman, answered my call who by the way is an extremely rude man. He told us we would have to bring or fax all the paperwork into their office. So we wait a few days a then go to their office.

When we got there Mr.Scharf starts rambling on about how this takes time and starts talking about other people's cases, which we could care less about. All we want him to do is do what he promised us in the beginning. Then he starts telling us we need to buyu this prepaid leagal thing every month or retain a lawyer for another $250.00 to have a letter sent and basically scare them into removing the negative items off his report.

At this point I am getting extremly aggravated and pissed off. How dare he tell us to do all this crap! I then ask him if he would provide us with at least 3 references of other clients he had completed credit repair services for. He just look at me dumbfounded and said we have plenty of people we have helped. I told him to prove it. All of a sudded his VP, Michael Hathman, starts screaming at me. I thought the man was going to attack me, I was scared to death. All over asking a question? He starts yelling telling us to get out of his office and them says he will sue us for slander and harrassment. How he would do that is questionable, as we did nothing wrong.

I them tell him we want our money back. So as we are walking out of his office I tell him we are contacting Fox 2 News, Elliot Davis, the you paid for it guy. Which I have written and called him since this happened. This makes him more irrate.

Since this has happened I have found out we are not the only ones who this compnay has try to take money from and not do what they say they are going to do. Our Agents lawyer has filled a petition with tState of Missouri for us to get our money back. Hopefully these people won't be able to do this to anyone else. I hope this ruins them!

prosecute their tails

I have filed a criminal charges against, michael hathman, Steve scharf, and Smart Solutions. The said part is , even though they have received a formal letter of intention. They still have no intentions, of paying me back. Like the above story, they are now discrediting my entire file, stating that I never paid them for services. Now keep in mind I have receipts and bankstatements that have their name written all over them. They're are even claiming I made the receipts...I used to have remorse for them..I tried to patiently wait for almost a year, for them to do the right thing. Did I mention they also stated they would give me the money back..in email and Facebook...but they are now denying it. Somebody needs to tell them , nothing is erased from the internet...if I never paid the fees, why do I have a preapproval letter and a binding contract stating otherwise...they now have 5 days in order to return my money, or it will be turned over to the St Louis prosecutors office. I urge all who have been made victims by this company. To call 314-615-5000, and ask for Contractor Fraud. Christina is not lying!

Oh Slander and harrasment are this companies favorite words. Its a common threat, just look at the other ripoff reports(someone has told them it works)..I've also contacted fox 2, BBB, attorney general, St Louis county pd, and Bridgeton P.D. but they keep changing names and locations. The definition of slander is an action of making a false statement..and you cant harass someone who owes you money, to a certain extent....its terrible how we all have the same exact issue, but we're all lying..Smart Solutions, sooner or later the government will catch you in the very act, and then what will you say...personal I cant wait to see the day

The strange part is Smart Solutions gives the same response for every accusation... We are all liars, its always someone elses fault. They've even gone as far as saying I have a criminal record. As if its supposed to justify the face that the company pocketed 1450.00 of my families money. This company is a complete ripoff! They have moved several times in an attempt to hide from customers that they have scammed. I too, was promised a home, credit repair, etc. of course NONE of it came to pass. Then Smart Solutions claims the reason they weren't able to complete the credi repair, is because I was unable to be contacted.... How many people put up $1450.00  and then hide from the company they paid it to?...lol... Another thing this company will do is try thier best to make the consumer think its thier fault. and what ever they can dig up about your family members is fair game to make themselves look like they are justified in stealing from you. So Beware... Do not do business Smart Solutions,Leander realty or Hope Ministries...Yes I said Ministries...lol

CHRISTINA IS A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR CONCERNING THIS STORY

Christina has never been and will never be a client of Smart Solutions Financial Services, myself or Steve Scharf. Christina has never remitted any payment to Smart Solutions Financial Services, LLC for any service whatsoever. Furthermore, Christina has no proof thereof - and will never have any proof of paying for services for Christina because, simply put, she has NEVER remitted any payment of any sort with her name on the payment. Christina uses the words, "us," "we" and "our" in her story. This is a complete lie as only her significant other partner has remitted payment in his name ONLY.

Smart Solutions did receive payment for ONE person - $500.00 which is a single person charge for our Platinum Program. Christina's claim that we would remove all the derogatory iformation from his credit report is false, over promissory and ridiculous. Only the major credit reporting bureaus and creditors hold this power - however, we will make every good faith effort to influence the chances that the derogatory information will be deleted after "verification" by the creditor(s) and credit reporting bureaus is completed within a 30-day time period. Obviously, and unfortunately, in the vast majority of cases some derogatory information will remain reporting. In some cases, it is wise to have an attorney send a letter to the creditor to demand proof or quit reporting or be sued if they do not comply with the attorney demand. The client (as well as Christina) was advised to use an attorney letter to get this accomplished. Christina completely ignored this advice. As a matter of fact, Christina assumed a combative, argumentative and very rude posturing from the very beginning of our meetings and would not change this terrible, riduculous attitude even when Steve or myself addressed her with a civil, kind tone. Obviously, it is COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE to deal with anyone who has this attitude. Since she never paid, had a horrendous attitude I (at first) kindly asked her to leave. SHE REFUSED TO GO. I felt that this was somewhat psychotic to say the least. I raised my voice, and in a terse and loud manner, demanded she leave the office. Never once did I commit assault and/or battery against Christina Kraft as a matter of fact, the whole time I was 10 FEET AWAY! I don't think that when someone is visiting another person's place of business, that displaying such an attitude is appropriate or necessary. Professional decorum is always best.

Smart Solutions corresponds (and corresponded with this client) on a regular basis. Any calls are normally returned within 1 business day. The process of restoring and improving credit does take time not a day or two like Christina believes to be the case. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the investigation period alone IS 30 DAYS this doesn't include mailing time, processing time or the order in which bureaus receive responses. Many times the process may take 45 to 120 days and in severe cases, up to 18 months to restore a client's credit. The legal protection plan is $17 per month an excellent value considering a single letter from an attorney can cost the attorney's client up to $250 per letter to send.

Christina is not entitled to any references considering SHE NEVER MADE PAYMENT. Also, I cannot give references to anyone as this is against GLB (which is a Federal Privacy Law). However, Smart Solutions does do their business ethically and with a Christian-Based philosophy. Smart Solutions always deals fairly and completely honestly with all clients who enroll for our services and we shall continue to do so to the very best of our ability.

Since services were rendered, no refund is due or warranted. However, Smart Solutions shall still continue to service the client if he so wishes. Finally, if Christina continues contacting any news organization or commits any type of slander, it will be answered by lawsuit AND A LAWSUIT WILL BE FILED against Christina by the end of 2009. Let this response shall also constitute a warning to anyone who damages this company, myself or Steve WE WILL FILE A CIVIL SUIT AGAINST ANYONE WHO SEEKS TO DO US UNJUSTIFIABLE HARM.
