I was employed at Smart Styles-Store2529 Greenville,Ms. I was harassed and discriminated against by the store manager Bernetta Roby and an employee of the store Ron Barnes. Ms. Roby accused me of harassing Mr. Barnes and wrote up disciplinary papers on me for me to sign. I refused to sign such false lies and acknowledge that what he was saying was true. Mr Barnes repeatedly made derogitory remarks about me to the other employees and to customers of the salon. I was the only White person working in the salon and felt that I was being decriminated against by Mr. Barnes and by Ms. Roby. After I refused to sign the harrassment papers, Ms. Roby would write me up for unsignifiant matters that required no repramand or write-ups. I had tried to talk to Ms. Roby on several occasions and was told a different lie each time. I feel that I was Loyal,Dependable,Never missed a day,Always on time,Hard worker and that I should never have been fired for quote" Missing a non-mandatory conference call". I also tried to talk to Ms. Roby about this matter and was told that there was not a problem and then months later I was fired for missing the conference call. I think that Ms. Roby should have had better grounds to fire me than that. I graduated from Regis Cosmetology College in Boston Mass. and feel that I have a right to be proud of my degree and proud of the company that I was working for. I was also discriminated and harassed by Mr. Barnes because he felt intimidated by my education at Regis Cosmetology College. Help what can I do? I loved working for a Regis Store and would love to work for Regis again under different surcumtances. Linda...Greenville,Ms.
