Do NOT use Smitty's Garage of St. James, NY. I brought my car to them to get Fixed. They tell me its a Repair they can do. I pay the Charge and pick up the car and The Problem comes back on my drive home. I had to bring my car back to the Shop THREE TIMES. On the 3rd Time picking my car up for SAME problem. They tell me they Recommend that I bring my car into a Dealership to Fix.

Im a long time Customer and so is my Family so I gave this Shop The Bennefit of the Doubt and figured they would just REFUND me what I paid because The car never got Fixed. But instead The Owners tell me they WILL NOT DO REFUND. Smitty's Garage and The Owners - Bobby and Greg are true Scum Bag Scam Artists. 

Do yourself a Favor and find a different Mechanic for your Auto Repair in The St. James and Smithtown Area. I was a long time loyal Customer now Smittys Garage has forever lost my Business as well as my entire Family's and my Girlfriends Family. 

SMITTYS GARAGE IS A HORRIBLE CAR REPAIR SHOP

we have been going to smittys garage for over 10 years now, im sorry this person had a problem but they are not a bad company. they always do their best to fix our cars and tell us what is the best way to care for them at home. they are skilled mechanics and very accomodating.  i wouldnt go anywhere else in st. james or smithtown.

 Bob, in Response to your Rebuttal - it's bad enough you kept my Money even after failing to Fix my Car but now you write all these Lies. You wrote that my Car wouldnt even Pass NY State Inspection but that's not true. in fact you are the very Mechanic who inspected and Passed it. You told me I needed Tires which was True so I went thru you and bought 4 Brand New Tires. As for stating that I was a loyal long time Customer - Yes I was. But up until this last repair I only brought my Car to you for minor stuff like Oil Changes. This Problem Repair was the First and Last major Repair I brought in to you. But since I was a long time Customer I thought that you would maybe do the right thing by me. You quoted me a separate Price of $400 to Fix my Dashboard Lights - the ABS, Traction Control, and Stability System Lights. You told me you could fix this and you quoted me and Charged me $400. This was a Seperate Charge from the other work like The tires I already paid for. I even have Saved Voicemails from you saying " The Car fixed come pick it up ". Well after I picked up the Car The Same Problem came back on the very Ride Home from your shop. I called you and you told me to just bring it back to you. I had to bring my car back to you THREE TIMES For same problem. On the Third an last time you tell me you recommend I bring the car to a Dealership instead. But this is not acceptable. You Charged me for this Repair and the car did NOT get Fixed. This where we have a disconnect and you seem to not understand. If you would have been straight up and Honest with me from the very start and told me that your Shop could not handle this type of Repair I would have respected your Honesty and brought my Car to a Mechanic that could Fix it. As for calling you a ' scumbag scam artist ' I apologize. Maybe your Business is one of the many that are not doing so well in this slow economy and you were just hoping you could figure out how to Fix my Repair and earn yourself a Buck. But you can see how this is completely not fair to me. If you misdiagnosed the Repair well that's NOT The Customers Fault. It's The Mechanics Fault. As for you calling my Report here Defamation. You should look up the Defenition. Everything I have written has been 100% Truthful. It's Web Sites like this that allow Customers like myself that have been wronged to have a voice. It also allows potential Customers to look up a Company and read about past experiences and reputation. Nowadays most potential Customers will do a quick Google Search about a Company before they do any Business with them. I tried to give you the Bennefit of the doubt and asked you for a refund. I only wanted the portion of money back that was charged for the Repairs that you did NOT FIX. I thought that because I was a long time Customer that you would turn around and do the right thing.

 Smitty's Garage has been in business for over 14 years in the same location. We have a wonderful reputation for being knowledgeable, honest, and trustworthy in the St. James community, if not, we would have gone the way of the many repair shops that have opened and since went out of business in the local area.

This was a case of a car that was in desperate need of numerous repairs but the customer was just unwilling to listen to the facts as they were explained to him. This vehicle would not even pass NYS inspection in the poor condition that it was in. ( Bad hub bearing, miss sized tires, bald and treads showing, shields missing from the undercarriage, bent rims, electrical issues, computer issues etc..). I am sorry that Mike did not understand what I had explained to him.

He was a customer for many years, so I'm sure he was happy with the work done in the past or he would not have been a customer for so long, but to use the verbage that was in his report here is totaly uncalled for and boardering on defamation.

All the repairs that were paid for were done.
