On November 10, 2010 I went to Sofa U Love met with Betty the salesperson at the Toluca Lake location to choose new slip covers/cushions. I chose white denim with new back pillows and seat cushions. Prior to delivery, my husband and I made two attempts to see the furniture to make sure everything was correct. Both times the factory told us it was wrapped and waiting to be delivered.
On Tuesday December 7, 2010, upon delivery I inspected my furniture, I told the delivery man that the slip covers were to big and did not fit properly. I refused to sign the acceptance slip and asked him if he could take them back. His response was that he could not, and for me to wash and dry them and they might shrink. I called Betty and she told me she would take care of it ASAP. I then also realized that my old worn-out cushions were inside the the brand new fabric. Needless to say, I was extremely upset. I immediately took them to the Toluca Lake store where Betty acted like it was no big deal. She said she would have everything picked up later that night to rectify the defective slip covers/cushions, but no-one ever called, nor did they show up.
I called the following morning December 8, 2010 and spoke to Betty once again, she told me that someone would definitely come and pick them up later that day. I know you know where this is going..guess what, no call, no pick-up again. I called Betty and explained that my daughter had a Christmas program at her school and I could not wait around any longer. She told me that she would call me first thing in the morning and we would schedule a time later that day. Again, I waited and waited and no call. On Dec 9, 2010 I was forced to call Betty. She was very upset with me for calling again and proceeded to ask me if I was bipolar. Are you kidding, a customer service sales person asking a customer if they are bipolar?? I was speechless and could not believe what she said. I tried to get someone on the phone to figure this out, but no one would talk to me nor would they call me back.
They finally called weeks later when the bank notified them regarding the dispute. They were extremely rude!! I have lost all faith in this company and after doing a lot of research I'm not the only person that they have ripped off........ VERY SAD!
I've been asking for my money back, I have waited, and waited and NOTHING!! The behavior of this company is unbelievable and unethical. I have had unfinished furniture for 5 months now. I want my 1,6550 back! I will NOT just let this go.
