Software-hq Extreme warning to all of you looking to buy software from the internet!! North Ridgeville OHIO

I was looking for a DVD program called Power DVD 8 to allow playback of dvds on the computer. When I typed in Power DVD 8 in the search field in google, I clicked on the first link. The screen looked official and even had the manufacture's name on the page. I proceeded to the payment screen. After payment was completed, it took me to a login page. When I went to log in, I then realized that I was scammed because the software was freeware that was available at no cost on many sites. Nowhere on the mainpage or payment page did it indicate that the software was freeware. I found the Power DVD download link on their site and it did not work at all. I contacted their billing department by phone and a very rude lady answered stating that what I paid for was for a membership and support and that all the software was for free. When I told her that it did not indicate that anywhere on the homepage or payment page. She said sorry, have a nice day and hung up the phone. I call back and she said for me to not call back anymore. I told her that the link for the software did not work and she told me that all the programs do work and to contact the support department. When I asked her if the billing department was part of the same company as the software, she said no. She said the name of the company was "Authorized Transaction" and they had no affiliation with the website. When I asked her for her name, she said "Have a nice day sir" and hung up the phone. I called her back again, and she said, call again and I will contact authorites. I told her to please do so, and she said "as*hole and hung up the phone. This company has a very long history with the BBB and the Rip Off report. Also many many other people have been scammed by this site. It has to stop. Their refund policy states that a refund will be honored if there is a technical issue on their part. When I indicated that the link did not work on their website, they denied it and disconnected the call. 90% of all internet crime is based out the the USA and people like this must be stopped. With the state of the economy today, people cannot afford to lose money to petty theives.
