My husband and I rented a house through Solano Property Management starting in October of 2009. When we rented the house we were told there were no immediate issues with it. Shortly after moving in the oven quit, the sewage back up all over the house, and the roof began leaking. It took weeks to get anyone out to fix the oven, we had to have plumbers out at least three times in the 7 months we were there, and there were various other small issues. I also called and told them that the sliding shower door in our bathroom were not hung correctly and needed to be repaired before they fell out. Of course no one responded. A couple weeks later one of the doors fell off its track snapping the tiny plastic piece holding it in at the bottom and shattered all over my two toddlers who were in the tub cutting both of them up. The next day I called Solano, sent them the picture of the shattered glass as requested and we were assured that we would not be held responsible for it. They of course had no record of me calling to ask them to repair it. Well, after several months of constant aggravation and poor customer service we finally got tired of it and decided to accept housing on base so we gave our notice. They gave us a cleaning check list and we packed up and moved. We spent 5 days cleaning that house from top to bottom, light fixtures, window sills, walls, bathrooms, stove - everything was scrubbed down with bleach. The carpet did have to be replaced in the living room because my children had cut a hole in it but the insurance covered that and the company was aware of it before we moved. A few days ago we get our deposit check in the mail - $166! We paid a $1450 deposit to move in there! They charged us $425 to clean the house again even though they said it was fine at the time of final inspection, $300 to replace the shower doors that broke because they could not bother to come repair it when asked, and another $100 to repaint a living room wall. I'm sorry but where I come from a few scuffs on the wall is considered normal wear and tear and is the owners reponsibility as is having her house recleaned if she wants. Needless to say we are very unhappy with this situation. I've already contacted the BBB and we are going to our bases Legal office next week to find out what can be done. I would definitely recommend staying as FAR away from this deceitful company as possible!
