Somewhere Over The Rainbow Animal Rescue Do not trust these people with your animals, your donations.....Do not trust them! Grand Rapids Michigan

 Melissa West and Amy Smith - Velthouse run  an animal "rescue" out of Grand Rapids, Mi.  They have burned every bridge with every rescue they have ever worked with.  Please feel free to check.  One of them claims to be a "behaviorist," and offers to "train" people's dogs.  DO NOT let them work with your animals.  Please let us see your certification.  Teaching an animal to sit or stay is MUCH different than working with a dog with aggression or any other behavioral issues.   

These ladies are constantly having personal issues that they post all over social media, claiming assault, etc against each other, and posting their intent to bring all the "rescue" animals to animal control.  This is a VERY unstable situation from everything they have posted about themselves.  There are records with Kent County animal control confirming they have done so.  All inappropriate personal comments seem to be deleted once they make up as well as any comments from concerned citizens.

They are not 501 c 3 and no longer have the support of their previous partner needed to pull animals from shelters.  This most likey means they will be trolling craigslist.  There have been rumors that not all animals have been properly vetted or at least vetted in the way they claimed.  Whether this is true or not, I cannot confirm, but where there is smoke, there is fire.  I have seen multiple internet posts from these ladies claiming they have criminal charges pending for slander against former members of the rescue.  Well ladies, it is NOT slander if it is TRUE.
