Everyone in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, has seen by now the car dealership SonShine Motors on Miracle Strip Parkway. The orange and yellow painted building, across the street from the Waffle House, next to Red Lobster. The logo sporting the three cross indicating there strong religious faith, using the subliminal message of God to make the average person drop there guard when shopping for a car. Well, I would like to report that SonShine Motors is a team of con artist.

When me and my boyfriend where looking in getting a new car we ventured on to there lot in hope of finding a new car. We did believe we found one, but we couldnt have been more wrong. Since having the car the is in the shop all the time, with things they said they fixed. Only to learn later that they never fixed them.

Also, there has been many times that you will call and no one answers, you leave a message and it is never returned. Most of the time you can never reach them or they hang up on you and say that they lost that call. They tell you they are pastors of churches, but they constantly lie to you about what they are going to do for you or that they fixed your car but then you take it to another mechanic and find out they never did. Or they tell you there is nothing wrong, but then you find out there is some very wrong from a mechanic.

The workers will never let you talk to the owner or the owner dodges you himself, same with the other workers there. There book keeper is constantly getting payments, paperwork, balances, receipt, and other important information and document lost, or messing them up and then hits you with a late fee or other fees when it was her fault.

I have never meet a team of more rude, disrespectful and unprofessional group of people in my whole life. They will constantly try and make you feel guilty about you coming and asking about repairs or why after a week of owning the car you are already having problems with it. They sell the cars no other dealer can, but when people dont have a lot of money or bad credit and they can't go to a Real dealer and they are forced to choose SonShine Motors. But, then after all the problems you find yourself upset and out alot of money.

I hope this helps Fort Walton Beach and everyone who comes to visit.

I will post more at a later date, due to the fact that I am hope to find a lawyer that can help me with the many rights that violated in this deal.

So after going through and reading this post, one has to realize you signed legal binding documents that shouldve been read over before signing. I have bought a car from SonShine Motors. I had minor issues with my car but when you buy a used car that is probably going to happen. I dont understand where the "they hate black people" thing is coming in. I am also a black woman with two children.......next excuse..... Ive never had any issues or disrespect towards me at all by anyone in this company. I actually had a very good experience. If anything, they worked with me whenever i had to make a late payment, or needed more time, or make a smaller payment than required. Out of the whole time I had my vehicle I never had any issues at all with any of the employees. To blame someone for not doing more than what they were required to do for you, is on you boo. They didnt have to fix, switch, tow, or anything else extra for you regardless of how long you did or did not have the car. It goes hand and hand with a used car...nothing is owed to you. The cars are sold AS IS.....which means once you sign those documents you are agreeing to anything that may arise with the car..............soooooooo yeah...just pointing out the obvious.

Ive had excellent dealings with this company. They worked with us from day 1. now we will own our 2003 van in a little over a month. There have been little misunderstandings on both sides but always worked out in the end. they helped us with problems that were found soon after we got the van. We will be buying a second vehicle from them shortly after this one is paid off :)

Lajuan, I did not know you had even asked for any money back, unfortunately the down payment for the vehicle is non-refundable which all your paperwork states that. But, I did try to fix your vehicle, which you could have came and picked up If the officer wouldnt have signed off on a No Trespassing order. All your paperwork states that the vehicle was sold to you As Is, without a warranty, which means by law I do not have to switch your vehicle, or fix it, but I did it anyway because we all liked you and thought it was the right thing to do. As for whoever will be appearing at the dealership on Monday, we are aware that DMV Compliance is stopping by, she wants to see your paper work where you signed the vehicle was AS/IS I have already spoken with her as well. As for not calling you on Wednesday I had personal doctor appointments that I was attending to for my family, my employee's however did inform me of everything that went on, and I did speak with the police officer on scene. But If your seizure really was real I am truly sorry that you had a seizure that day and for any other medical problems that you may have, I hope you get better. I will indeed give Hannah your congratulations Im sure that will be greatly appreciated. I do wish you well, and wish I could have done more for that situation, but I was not in the office that day, thats why I told Hannah to have you come in the next day when I would be there. But you are welcome to call.

Dude... To bring some ones child into this? That's just low. I've bought two cars from Sonshine motors, and te first car I had, had an issue, and like you they put me I to a new car. Things happen! At least they have the decency to help you. How is it their fault that you brought them your car to fix and didn't have a ride home, how is that their responsibility? Seems kind of ignorant. Back to what I was saying, to bring Hannah's child into this is so childish. How dare you? I know TONS of the customers along with me that would defend Hannah an her whole family. And I cannot believe that you are so low that you would even stoop to that level. Time to grow up. And IF you didn't know, you signed an as is warranty. Just like the rest of us. Even if they didn't want to help you fix it, which they did, they didn't HAVE to. Simple.

Lajuan, Im not sure who you are referring to, this is Kenny, and I dont know why your referring to Hannah, one of my employees who wasnt even present at the dealership when you acted the way you did. Infact, Hannah was the one in the background trying to help you and plead your case, for you to talk so terrible about her is beyond me. This is a business complaint, It has nothing to do with personal issues you may have. That can be discussed over the phone If you would like to speak to somebody. As for you putting on a show, once again not sure what your referring to. There is no need for bad language, or screaming at anybody, there is a way for things to be handled in a civil matter as adults. Also Lajuan I have no problems what so ever with people of any race or religion. I have black, hispanic, and white employee's. Even with all this being said, I dont have a problem with you, in fact my heart breaks for your situation believe it or not. But this complaint is between you and I, and can be resolved or not resolved between you and I, for you to make comments about a person (hannah) who tried to help you and make comments about her un-born child is really inappropriate. I know you would not want anyone talking badly about you or your children, there is always two sides to every story. I do not understand why you are so upset with the company we have tried to do everything that you have asked us, switch you into another vehicle and fix the second one twice, free of charge, the only thing we could not do is give you a rental. I do not have a business license for renting vehicles, it is an insurance liability that I cant take, other wise we would have been happy to give you one. We cannot please everybody or everyone but in all honesty we tried very hard to keep you happy.

Response

AUTHOR: sheshejames - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 22, 2013

Let me first and foremost respond to the complaint by Lajuan Morris (AKA Erin). She came to our dealership to purchase a 2007 Saturn. After having the vehicle for a few days she brought It back to our dealership and told us that It was giving her problems and she wanted a different car. We had the vehicle checked out by a mechanic to find absolutely nothing wrong with the vehicle, but since she insisted we let her pick out a different vehicle and go on her way. By contract we did not have to do that, we were just trying to be helpful. Mrs. Morris then drove the Volkswagon Passat that she leased to Houston TX for a court date she had regarding a traffic violation is what we were told, in the process of the trip the check engine light came on her vehicle, she brought the vehicle back to us again, we took the car to our mechanic and had it diagnosed. It needed an o-2 sensor, which we replaced, free of charge, which by law and contract we did not have to do either, She leased both of these vehicle without purchasing a warranty and all repairs are up to the purchaser. BUT once again we tried to make Mrs, Morris happy.

She then called the dealership again complaining that her vehicle was over-heating. My general manager at the store instructed her not to drive the vehicle because If it was over heating she could blow a head gasket or possibly the entire engine. She informed Mrs. Morris that she would have the vehicle towed back to the mechanic and have the vehicle checked out and fixed, AGAIN. Mrs Morris refused to let us pick the vehicle up and fix it, she said she would wait until she could talk to the owner another day about her situation. Instead of doing so, Mrs. Morris drives the vehicle from Pensacola to our dealership, she arrives at 4:30 P.M. (Keep in mind we close at 6:00 P.M.) She demands we fix the car right then and now, so we take the car once again to our mechanic. We informed Mrs. Morris to find herself a ride home because her vehicle wouldn't be ready by 6:00 when we closed. If a vehicle is overheating you cannot get vehicle to repair shop, buy or find parts, fix vehicle, and return it to customer within an hour and half, that just isn't feasible. Which she was already told how we could help her earlier that day by the GM of the store, but instead she drove vehicle up to the lot anyways.

Once we informed Mrs. Morris she would need to find a ride home, she went completely overboard with her anger and attitude. She began violently screaming at the employees in the office and pacing all over the office. Our employee's tried to calm her down and couldn't understand why she was so upset. After about 20 minutes of her carrying on and cussing everyone in the office one of my employees felt so threatened that she had to call 911. A Fort Walton Beach Police Officer showed up to the scene to try and straighten things out. Lajuan Morris was in such a rage that she began to scream at the cop! The police tried to calm her down and when she didn't he contacted DCF because of the way she was acting infront of her own children. Mrs. Morris then told the police to call DCF that she didn't care what he did. Once the police officer listed to both sides of the story he instructed Mrs. Morris along with her children and husband to leave the dealership, when she refused he filed a No Trespassing order against her valid for up to one year. If she comes back to the dealership she will be arrested.

He spoke with my self over the phone along with the GM of the store. He informed Lajuan Morris that there wasn't anything she could do, she had signed an AS/IS No Warranty on the vehicle she leased, and even so the dealership was trying to help her. Again, we do not know what she become so upset and outraged over the situation. We cannot fix a car If it is being driven down the street or sitting in her driveway over an hour away. We tried to reason with her every way possible. As far as her belongings we assumed she would not want them left in her vehicle over night in case anything was valuable so we brought them to her incase. The mechanic shop where her vehicle would be at is not gated.

As for the seizure she claimed to have, we were present at the time she fell to the ground in convulsions they lasted about 30 seconds and she then sat up. An ambulance and Fire Fighters were called, once the First Responders hooked her up to the machine we were informed that seizure was indeed false and faked. She indeed did not have a seizure. The ambulance was told to leave that she did not need any medical care. Lajuan Morris made this whole situation into something that It was not, we would have continued to help her had she not reacted and began to threaten the employees in the office. You cannot go into a place of business with your young children present and react that way. It wont get you anywhere.

We are sorry she had issues but we made ever effort possible to amend them. A lot of times people see our Dealership Logo with the 3 crosses and think that they can get away with murder because we claim to be Christians. We are christians but we are not a NON-Profit organization and people still need to understand we are a business and will conduct ourselves as such. Her kids were never forced out of the office, infect she neglected them the entire time, the employees were trying to soothe her frightened children, they were scared because of the way she was reacting. The whole situation is unfortunate and we wish she would have not reacted in the manner that she did. Unfortunately there is only so much that we can do, we tried our very best to please her.

Erin you make no sense.....

AUTHOR: sheshejames - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 21, 2013

Erin, personally I find your complaint completely INVALID. For many reasons. Mainly because your opening statement about this business is that they quote "Hate black people" first of all, you do not know that, they have never been acused of any kind of racism from what I have read, and they sell cars to people of every race, If they really hate black people do you think they would have wasted their time selling you a car in the first place?
Secondly, You said that they gave you a second vehicle? What dealership does that, seems like they tried to help you, and you also said they offered to tow your vehicle and fix it? Where is your complaint? I dont see that they did anything wrong infact, I dont know a dealership anywhere that would give you 2 vehicles and then fix them for you! You just sound like a nut case who has nothing to do with his/her time and you think you can get attention from complaining.

Im looking for a vehicle in the next month or so, and because of what you just said I am DEFF going to see these people first....since I know they tried to help you!

Wow, you really blew it.

SHE IS RIGHT

AUTHOR: Erin - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 21, 2013

JUST because you need a car don't mean they have the right to treat people like that I brought a car there and the same thing happen to me they don't like black people they treat me and my family like crape so I do understand I have a lawyer right now. my story  I brought a car from a dealership called son shine motors and  they sold me two bad cars that did not work I took the car down there at about 330 pm on Tuesday 3/19/2013 this was the second car they gave me the first car keep on cutting off. Kenny  the owner said he a pastor and that he will do what's right and change the old one out. I have only had the second car for two weeks I had to take it to them twice. Me and my two kids got down there and they daughter of the owner said we will fix the car today which is 3/19/2013 I said can I get a loaner while you guys fix it I have to go to work tomorrow she then begins to say you should have not come find a way to get home they bring all of my stuff out of the car and tell me I need to find a way home with no money and two kids and no food they called the police and the police told me if I don't clam down he will call DCS because I was speaking my mind I had sezuier and hit my head on the ground because my blood pressure went up. They kept on saying we offer to tow it and then how was I going to get my car back. I live 50 miles away I live in Pensacola the dealer is in fort Walton, FL. they left the dealership while I was lying on the ground after I had my sezuier and did not give me my money back or my car back the sheriff was called and they came out and paid for me a cab so me and my kids can get home they left us out there in the cold they would not even let my son use the restroom they told my kids to get out it cost the sheriff department over a 100 dollars to get us home if it was not for them me and my kids would be still out there I plan on suing them as well because they have my money and my car they really need to be shut down they guy that fix there cars work out of his house and I took my car over there on 3/15/2013 they were suppose to fix the car then it was not fix the first time I am upset and they need to be exposed.

I've just read all the comments above, just seems to me like the company was just acting like a business.  I understand the whole "getting kind of personal" and thinking you have some grace with the payments, but the business, was just acting like a business.  And the prices may have been a little high, i didn't see what they charged you on your previous comments, but you signed the contract.  No one forced your hand.

so basically you are arguing with me by agreeing with me. OK the ONE AND ONLY reason i had to go there is that there is no where else in fort walton that would do an in house finance for us on our budget soo NO i could not have gone anywhere else.. and yes i have gone to other dealerships and looked at numerous cars and took my father in law who is a mechanic and unfortunately after going to the bank and begging them to give me a loan, they turned me down and as i have said when i went up there to get the car, the owner was awesome he was nice and caring and seemed to be a real good person but that was ONLY to sell the car... after that i barley even seen him and i dont like the way you are talking to me about this i know im right.. you dont know how i treated those people... i was a very nice person joked with them had a good personality when i was in there never called them to complain and made EVERY payment on TIME  and we were not treated like you were i dont know why but we werent and the more you TRY to make it MY fault the more i see that it WAS NOT.. so there is absolutely nothing that you can say make me change the way i feel about that place

First of all, nobody giving a complaint EVER gives their name, so you must either be ashamed or not telling the whole truth about this company. Secondly, your a victim!?? Yeah right......YOU bought a car there, yeah YOU! Nobody forced you to purchase the vehicle YOU DID IT. You can't blame anybody but yourself if your having an issue but YOU bought the car. And yes you could better yourself and get some credit and go somewhere else. Boo h*o. Plus if the car is over priced why did YOU buy it?? Didn't you ask how much the car was? If not, your more dumb than I thought.

My name is Sandy, I bought a car there almost 5 months ago, my car runs great, and as far as my balance it seems correct, because I check it. Yeah ME! Because YOU should watch those things, people, companies, cooperations, and business's make mistakes! It happens all the time. Get over it. I also recently had a baby, I went in with my little bundle of joy and explained to them why I needed to skip a payment but that I would catch it up, not only did they allow that, they bought me diapers!! If you would of went in there person to person with a good /humble attitude and not with the mentality that these people owe you something because they don't, your outcome most likely would of been different.

So still feel like a victim? You shouldn't, because YOU got yourself into the situation you did, YOU bought the car, and YOU should budget your money.

OKAY first of all to 'partyrockdj' who commented on anonymous girls post no you are the idiot... first of all it doesnt matter how nice the people are the moment you are looking for something to buy from them THEY ARE SELLING YOU A CAR and they will say anything to get you to buy THE CAR duhhh why would you slash someone for their credit report.. its funny my husband and I have no credit and he is 30 years old and we had to go to sonshine motors for a car and you know what we have been having the same problems I have had to drive back to them twice after making a payment because they screwed up on my balance and they have calculators right in front of them. and the car is WAY overpriced and they ARE rude and the owner told my husband when we first got the car if we had ANY trouble with payments to call them and he will help us well we made EVERY payment ON TIME and this ONE time we called because i just had my daughter and had to be out of work and were tight on money.. they freaked out on my husband and told him that if he didnt come make a payment they were going to call the cops and report the car stolen. matter of fact come to think of it we could probably get a laywer ourselves for the crap they put us through they said they put new fluids in the car when we got it but after not even a month there was something wrong with the motor and when we checked the oil... there was barley any... so YEA you got 10 grand in your pocket to go to the nice new auto dealers with their nice new cars must be nice but no one in the real world has that so yea real people have to go to a buy here pay here lot and you never bought a car from them so you have no right to say anything anyways the person who reported bought a car from them and i have and i have to say i was really surprised that im not the ONLY one those people were treating like this it says your credit is your job well my husband has been at his job for 11 years and they didnt treat him ANY BETTER soo thanks but your opinion is not needed.. and yes im young too BUT im not stupid.. and have responsibility of that of a 30 year old and again.. wasnt treated any better.

But....

You know, that place sits right in the middle of a pile of brand new car dealers that you could've g....wait...never mind.

You're a victim.  I'm sure those other banks in your past, or your boyfriends past probably ripped you off too, which is why you had to go to Sonshine.

By your grammar, and lack of it's proper use I'll assume (and hope) you're really young.  Let me give you some advice.  Pay your bills.  When you DO that, and you have your records intact, then you get to tell everyone how you were victimized by the dealer that was probably your only chance of not walking to the next paint party at Nighttown.

Then, when you've never defaulted, but you go to an attorney..THEN you have a complaint and THEN you have a dealer that says...'Oh, let's not lose these kids...they always pay on time, let's make sure we get them taken care of"....instead of..."Oh, they're late again.  I'm not fixing it...they don't deserve it".

Just a thought.  I spoke to a young man there a few months ago that was friendly, took time w/ me on the phone and told me exactly how it works.  Part of that is, if you don't pay your bill they're gonna come get the car.

Sounds pretty logical to me.
