I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this, you can kindly tell me where to go if possible. But I just experienced discrimination for buying a video camera for my sister's wedding. First I ordered online (my sister's videographer asked me to buy a camera that he will pay when I get to the Philippines), then a guy names Danny (extension 229) talked me into buying the HD camera instead of the PD170. So what happened was, me, with the inexperience and impulsiveness, bought the HD camera instead of the PD170. But when my sister learned about it, she told the videographer then the videographer said that he doesn't like it and he has no materials to edit HD.
So I called back Sonic Cameras and Danny was so mad that he told me that "You know what, you're order was cancelled! Just don't order anything from us!" I was heart broken and I still want to buy from him. In the first place, he was the one who told me to switch. Now, when I want my original order back, he didn't want to sell me anything!!!
Please help... What should I do? I still want to buy that camera, now their saying that it's out of stock.. That's discrimination to sell when in fact, he swayed me into buying the other one instead...

Consider yourself lucky that you didn't buy from those scam artists...! Here is the Bait and switch as follows:
Since you didn't want the HD model "Danny" (using alias most likely) tried to switch you to, he knew he couldn't sell you your PD170 as your photographer requested for the sale price.
The reason they switch you to a Higher costs for their so called HD Camera they cannot make the deal. You are lucky you didn't follow through with your purchase...!
Do yourself a favor and just google Sonic Cameras (plural) and you will see complaint after complaint of the same technique of switching items or cancelling the order.
These people at Sonic Cameras will lie to you, they are using fake names and you can't trust what they say, it's a real scam..!!

I thought it was discrimination. I was so naive. I learned that it was called a bait-and-switch operation. Rude customer service and verbally abusive manager.

Discrimination against Wishy-washy Customers?
Since you know about the camera dealer ratings (on photonet, right?) you also know that there are a lot of dealers listed there who got good reviews. Pick one of them. Never try to ride a mean horse.
Also check out some of the shopping bots, the ones that list several dealers' prices for the item you asked for. Some shopping bots have better-policed seller ratings than do other bots. You can also Google your item, and dealers will pop up.
The charge for not deleting your comments is totally bogus if you had used a credit card, as you always should. All you would need to do is file a written chargeback request with your CC. If you had used a debit card, well, your-bad!

This is an update!!! Sonic cameras (Kevin of phonen number 3472740713 extension 238) called me and threatened charge me $214 if I don't delete my comment here and in resellerratings.com... I just don't get it... A company threatening a customer of a fee just to take out comments that will warn people of their very bad customer service... What are they thinking? Aren't they scared of a class suit? All of us complaining (I bet you there's a lot!! probably more, but they got scared to be ripped off.. and if they continue with their practices, lots and lots of people will complain) can get together and just sue them of the headache they are causing us. It's a very traumatic experience!!! If they charge me $214 just because I refuse to delete my complaints here and in the other website, then that will be a real RIP OFF!!!
I'm a statistician and I know that their average in ResellerRatings.com of 1.4 out of 10 is very very bad business. Maybe you don't have to be a statistician.. Common sense will tell you that Sonic Camera is a scam!!!
