I have delt with sonic/prl us/cast transfer centers a few times myself, they are scam and treat their customers poorly, they also told me they are recording me everytime i have called there. They also made a firm arrangement with me and told me that i can reloan within an hour to pay my other bills, if not they will sue me the next day. i gave borrowed money from my family and paid them by money grahm as they intructed me to do so, thinking i can reloan the same day, but guess what they debited my account after i made my payment as per the verbal areegment and we had set up, now my entire checks bounced as they took all that money as well. I called to get my money put back as now they adh doubled charged me, i was transfered to supervisor name " par " ....she was so rude and really upset at me for asking to refund my money. she sd it is all your fault and when i tried to ask for her supervisor she hung up on me , this is how they treat all their customers, after that i called numerous times again and left messages for her , but she never called me back !

The only advise I give anyone is to stop the debits from going to your account before they try to hit your acc, your bank will do it for you for 10.00 ...sure beats all the nsf fees if they try to take it out , and they won't refund you the money !!

basically i have taken out a few loans now from them , but everytime they want me to pay on my 2nd payday, but i have found out once i stop the ach at my bank, they give you 3 paydays after it comes back returned from your bank to pay this, they say they won't give your 3 paydays but they do, they never proceed with legal action like they say or property search, all they do it is send wage assigment, but you can send them a fax stating you revoke the right to contact your payroll for wage assignment, and then they can never contact your payroll again !!!! Hope all this helps ! Let me know how it goes....

Read your loan agreement people....

AUTHOR: Smarterthenyou - (Canada)

POSTED: Monday, August 11, 2008

All the customers here of prl/sonic/ctc/greenpicket really need to read their loan agreements. When you clicked that digital signature button to get your loan, you agreed to have your employer and references contacted in the event your loan goes NSF. Now if you ask the company not to call your work then by law they cannot. As for those saying collectors 'threaten' to contact payroll, well their allowed to, and it's to verify employment...you know, make sure you still have a job to pay your loan.

Now, they have to say the call is recorded that is the law if they call you, and if you do not set up a verbal contract to pay, taking and confirming the payment methods to your account manager, then they and whatever loan company you used has the right to debit you account. As a consumer you have the right to close your account and hault the payment, but to a collector these are the signs of someone not wanting to pay...which is when the so called 'harrassing' phone calls start coming. Lets be honest here, if you paid your loan back on time, you would not have any of these problems.

As for calling any of these services a ripoff, then that is also false, some people actually can borrow money and repay it on time...you were given the money all at once, and are therefore expected to pay it back all at once. If you won't have the funds in 15 days to pay then why are you agreeing to this loan agreement that allows the company to move the to third party collections. Obviously the interest rates are ridiculous, so if you cannot pay it back on time don't loan, and if it goes NSF, then stop crying about the standard NSF fees that all financial companies charge....

One last thing these people calling are from collections NOT customer service...and you are the ones owing money to the companies they represent so why should they be polite...so they can be pushed over and no one ever repays their loans?!?

I am dealing with Payday Avenue right now

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 14, 2006

I have taken out a 200.00 loan with these people and have to repay it back this Friday. I tried to extend it until till later this month due to my checking account closing because of fruadulent activity on it. I tried to work something out with them but there impossible and said they will be debiting the funds Friday even though my account is closed.

I told them they won't get any money but they told me they will put a fee on my total balance because of the transaction they attempted. I do want to pay them back but I dont feel its fair there adding an additional $72.00 on an already $75.00 finance fee for a 2 week loan. I will be paying $350.00 for a $200.00 loan.

Thats insane! and I obviously did not read the contract fully which is my fault. Does this company report you to the credit bureau or do they have the means to report you to the credit bureau? My credit is really good right now and I do not want any negative feedback on it. Should I pay this loan or is this company a bunch of frauds? Please give some advise. I would greatly appreciate all the help.. Thanks

wage assignment

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 14, 2006

I took out a loan with this company and when I was unable to pay on the paydate, I agreed to pay on the second paydate of the month. The person I spoke with confirmed the information so I felt at ease. Around the 10th, I started to get calls at work and home from CTC from someone named Derek Adams. He threatened to contact my employer. I wrote back to the customer service department as well as the department that handles late payments and they STILL contacted my employer about wage assignment the day prior to the day I had made payment arrangements for.

I wrote my payroll department to let them know the information I learned about this company from Ripoff Report, and they said Derek Adams had already called to verify employment, hire date and asked her to tell me he had called. My payroll department said they will not give out any further information. Does anyone know how to get in touch with the FTC about the fact that these people are violating the Fair Credit Act? We need to stop them. I've done everything possible and followed the guidelines I found for responding to these types of loan companies and they are still breaking the laws. What can we do? I have also referenced the following sections of the FDCPA:

Sec. 1692c. Communication in connection with debt collection (section C)
Sec. 1692d. Harassment or abuse
Sec. 1692e. False or misleading representations

These are actual laws that are being broken by this company...These new laws also prohibit a debt collector from disclosing what I owe to anyone but my attorney. Where do we go now? They completely disregard these laws. Thanks.

Melanie

AUTHOR: Stacey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, June 10, 2006

Did you sign a wage assignment? I had signed one which they tried to use. My payroll dept contacted me first. They realized it wasn't a garnishment therefore, not legal.

Immediately fax a revocation of wage assignment to the creditor. It can be as simple as this:

I hereby revoke my wage assignment. You no longer have my permission to use it.

If you have a good relationship with your payroll dept. notify them this may be coming. Then you can fax your revocation to your payroll dept also. From what I have read here, it's a crap shoot whether your payroll dept will honor a wage assignment.

Remember that wage assignments are voluntary. And can be revoked unlike a garnishment which is a court order.

Don't let them intimidate you. Try to arrange a payment plan. If they refuse a payment plan, it might mean they are affiliated with Sonic and won't bother you because they are not located in this country and it's not worth trying to collect legally.

Good luck to you.

Wage Assignment

AUTHOR: Melanie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 09, 2006

I have just got contacted by "Cash Transfer Centers". I have had a rough month money wise and owe over $300 they say at CTC. They have threatened to contact my payroll dept to take the money. From what I read from others is that they will probably do a wage assignment. What does the letter have to say exactly? This company sounds like bad news!

I have also beena victim those payday loan comanies. My suggestion is to call the bank. These companies are loan sharks and reputable banks now and they are willing to stop the debits by opening a new account and closing the old one. Let them contact you to make payment arrangments.

Good luck.

Suggestions for Dealing with Sonic

AUTHOR: Stacey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 19, 2006

They tried to do a wage assignment which my payroll dept wouldn't honor because it isn't legal. They threatened me also. A Wayne Bruce was horrible to me on the phone and then called back pretending to be someone else. I told him it was ok to send me to a collection agency and he came totally unglued so I hung up on him.

I have rescinded my "wage assignment". Just fax a note rescinding to them. Also request copies of all signed loan documents pertaining to the loan they are badgering you about. It's quite possible they have nothing in writing and cannot collect from you.

My experience hasn't been as horrible as some...at least they haven't double dipped into my account, which I closed to break out of the payday loan cycle. This may be an option for you. Good luck.

Wage Garnishment

AUTHOR: Amy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 17, 2006

I am a victim of this company. I have an outstanding loan with Sonic. They keep trying to ach debit my checking account when it's not even my payday which has cause me to lose $1000's in overdraft fees. I had to close my checking account due to this. Now a place called E care is calling my work asking for the payroll department; however, what they don't know is I am the office manager which means I answer all phone calls and I am the payroll department. I have told them that the person they need to talk with is not in this week and they say they will call back. They mention that it is regarding so called "legal documents" that they sent regarding a wage assignment against me. I did receive these documents, but there is nothing from an attorney in them. It's basically all the contract forms I signed when I took the loan out and there is one I signed about wage garnishment. I don't know if it is legally binding because I signed this form. I was under the impression that they would have to get a court order to get a wage garnishment against me. Will they go this far? I tried to pay them back in the past, but they would not allow me to make payments. They would only say you must make full payment, they were not willing to work with me at all on paying them back in installments. Very unbelievable to me. They caused me $1000's in loss very debiting my checking so at this point I feel like they were in the wrong and I shouldn't have to pay them back. Anybody who reads, Please do not loan from this company. They will not work with you and only cause you additional pain down the road!

PRLDirect.com/ECare victim

AUTHOR: Ami - (Canada)

POSTED: Sunday, May 14, 2006

Just recently found out I am a victim myself.A year and a half ago I got a 400 dollar loan. Long storey short they garnished me a total of 633 dollars and still want me to 500 more. When I questioned where all the money went that they garnished they wouldn't give a straight answer.

My advice that I got from a credit counsellor is to get a letter head document stating how much you owe and how much you've paid plus a copy of the loan agreement with your signature on it. If this doesn't match your records then you can report them to the gornment for fraud. even though the money they loan you is from out of the country from what I gather they still have to follow our laws and regulations in regards to loan brokers.

You must also write to them stating they are no longer allowed to contact your place of employment nor garnish you.

I am in the process of contacting a lawyer if they want to proceed with further action.

Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

I too have used CTC

AUTHOR: Ann - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 25, 2006

This place is a pain in the xxx... They called my job immediately after I faxed them a letter telling them not to call me at work, but to call me at home. They ask for my supervisor, who is a friend but runs the office while our Regional is out of town. I didn't care that she knew my business because I have known her for years, but they asked for her email sent her an email regarding my loan claiming to be verifying information that they just confirmed on the phone.... Brea Walker left me several messages yelling at me for not calling her back, Richard Cash left me nasty messages threatening me and telling me that it was my final warning. I will repay them, but it will have to be when I can get a handle on everything and recover from my account having to be closed due to my personal information being comprised. They repeatedly called my office and I finally got in touch with my Regional who is an attorney and he was going to put a stop to them calling until about three weeks later they started calling me again. They called my references and told my sister that they were just verifying my information and to make sure and tell me that.

Whatever they are spreading my personal business, not that I care it is my sister, but they have broken the Fair Credit Act rules a few times. It is embarrasing when they call your job and I guess some people come up with the cash before they get to their supervisor. I turned them in to the FTC and every other place that I could think of. I was told that they do not have any information as being based in the US other than the P.O. Box in Pa which I turned them in under CTC. I was unaware that they were operating under various names as well. Best advice, stay away from these places on line... I have learned my lesson and we will all have more money if we aren't borrowing from these places and paying the high interest. Luckily I am blessed with a good family who is helping me until I can get out of debt.

I am a single women who ended up in a desperate situation, but I only blame myself and the sorry SOB ex husband who hid $$ in my divorce or other wise I would have never had to borrow from Peter to pay Paul. Find a way out and stay out, but until then find every way that you can to fight these people and let them know that they can't threaten us and harrass us at work.

Wow Payday Avenue is in Malta

AUTHOR: Lee - (Australia)

POSTED: Saturday, April 08, 2006

I visited http://www.mypaydayavenue.com/ just for sh**s and giggles and "chatted with a loan agent". I asked if they made loans to Canadians Mamie advised their firm only will provide loans to US customers and not Canadian. It was funny as they traced my IP address in seconds and knew I was down under and immediately disconnected the chat. Funny they are located in Malta, just milking poor American consumers of money through exhorbitant fees.
