    The allegations posted in the above article concerning our company have numerous factual errors and actually constitutes defamation.  The original poster has been attempting, along with a few others, to defame the company thru the use of internet guerilla tactics and hiding behind anonymous internet postings for years.  Unfortunately, the internet is a very unregulated media outlet and anyone can claim outlandish things, and until recently, there were no laws to protect the defamed companies.  Due to recent legal cases such as Kauffman Racing Equipment LLC v. Roberts and many others, defamed companies are now able to prosecute those that commit libel against them.  See definition below:

Defamationalso called calumny, vilification, slander (for transitory statements), and libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image.

To clarify some of the falsehoods:

1.  There are entry level employees that are paid salary, commission, AND hourly.  We have over 4 different divisions that are all paid completely different. We do have a business to business sales division.  We also do events at hospitals and schools.  We work inside the country's biggest retail chains as well.  In our Downers Grove office alone, we have over 12 Letters of Recommendation from VP's and CEO's of professional sports teams, a national theatre chain, and leaders in the food and beverage industry.  They say you can tell a man by the company he keeps, and the clients we keep, speak for themselves.

2.  Smart Cirlce owns nothing.  They are one of numerous companies we use to acquire clients.  They are simply a client acquisition company.  In no way do they own the business nor do they make decisions for the business. 

3.  With hundreds of reps in the field across the country, there are bound to be incidents.  A rep in another city caused a temporary issue with the Sears campaign.  The campaign was halted, issues were fixed to make the program work even better than before, and now we are full steam ahead working together again.  This happens in every big company across the country.  Its impossible to be in the sales and marketing industry, and have a client list over 2000, and expect to never have minor issues. 

4.  As far as National Promotions goes, they pay their employess whatever is HIGHER, commission or hourly.  Notice the word, "HIGHER".  Of course they do a draw/clawback payscale when someone first starts.  It helps the rep make more money at the beginning of their employment.  Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, etc. all use the same type of draw/clawback payscale.  In fact, its the norm not the exception in sales.

We have currently taken the first legal steps to have this type of defamation removed, as cease and desist orders are being sent out as the first step in the process.  Unfortunately it is a lengthy process as it requires the collection of IP addresses and ISP's,  and this will be the last time we discuss this topic openly as requested by our legal team that will be leading the prosecution.  We felt that current employees, and those looking at us for future employment needed to know the truth. 

We are in an industry (outside sales and marketing) that employs many people and is very fast paced and stressful.  We understand that there will always be a handful of former employees that are unhappy with the way things ended.  For as many people as we have employed and companies that we have helped, we are extremely proud of our track record.  Every company that deals with the public as much as we do will have its detractors, (Wal Mart, Edward D Jones, etc all have complaints on this site. Even the BBB has complaints on this site).  So one must understand, that this site is an unregulated forum for people to post claims, but they didn't have to prove validity.  Please see the links below to see examples of why you can't believe everything you read on the internet.
