A very misleading organization. Do not accept any harrassing phone calls demanding payment for trash bags sent to you in return for a donation. S.C.W.V.A. use to sell these garbage bags in order to "earn" money to do programs for local veterans in our local VA hospitals. After being served a letter to cease and decist from attorney general, the organization has changed thier pitch to "gifting" these bags in return for your donation of $49.95. If you fail to send in a donation after receiving the "gift" they will call you weekly harrassing you, and demanding you make a paymet! If this organization was being honest, they would send you the "gift" after you make your donation. They trap you by sending you the so called "gift" on the honor system. You do not have to promise a donation in return for these bags. A donation is not a payment. I feel very sorry for the folks who have been mislead by this organization, and sincerely hope that the negative experience you've had with S.C.W.V.A. does not keep you from helping our local veterans! If you'd like to donate to our local VA, do so directly through the VA volunteer services dept. These telemarketers are bieng payed hourly, and they get commission for each and every so called donation they receive. These girls will use any means possible in order to put a little extra cash in thier pockets (its a sad shame and a sign of the times). If You have accepted any bags from these people, send them back and make your donation made directly to the local veterans association, it is the only way to ensure your entire donation is being used for our local vets!
