Ive been with this bank all year and Iam a disabled veteran I can only live off my disability payment. I sometimes may need a advance but it is taken care of on the first when the Us department of treasury deposits my monthly disability. Last month Because I am a veteran and my pay was a day late they froze my account I have been calling all month to try to resolve this issue and get access to my funds so that I can eat and survive.

I was told by a supervisor That because its a disability deposit then there is no way for them to prove that I will be getting paid. However you can already see my next deposit for the following month. So now they want to deactivate my card and send me a new one making me wait another week to have the money to take care of myself. I have re injured my self working on odd and end jobs to feed my family the best way I know how and now require another surgery.

Thanks for looking out for vets southern commerce I would have pulled my direct deposit and changed bank accounts by now if the had not froze it...What the hell is up with these guys. If you do find your self about to open a account with them be forewarned especially if you happen to be a veteran. They will go out of their way to screw you when they get the chance and if you call to ask them why? be prepared to sit on phone for several minutes waiting then you will probably be hung up on shortly there after...

Negative

AUTHOR: Wolf the great - ()

I dont know why I have to keep defending this experiance. I have long since changed banks and never had any problems like this. I usually just get a bad taste in my mouth when I pass by the local SCB branch. If you dont or never have banked with this bank in particular why defend it? you have no idea what services they offer or not. This report was for my fellow VETERANS not people paid to respond to negative rip off reports. Im happy with my new bank they work with me and my disability payments even helped me understand how to save money month to month. They have a prgram for people who want to build credit and buy homes. If something happens I cannot cover in my savings account they have options and they know who I am when I come in the door. Southern Commerce Bank is a little known bank, with suspect banking methods that left me hanging. If you cant understand my problem with that then I cant relate with you or anything you say ethier...

SCB is DFC, owner of Armed Forces Bank

AUTHOR: Nun-yo - ()

I echo the sentiments of others on here. It may be more about your money management than the banking practices. To further rebute, however, did you know that SCB is currently owned by Dickinson Financial, a sister bank to Armed Forces Bank? I highly doubt that they were picking on you because of your veteran status being so closely related to the military-bank and all. Just a thought from a consumer.

"I sometimes may need a advance but it is taken care of on the first when the Us department of treasury deposits my monthly disability. Last month Because I am a veteran and my pay was a day late they froze my account"

Banks don't give advances on future deposits and they don't freeze accounts because of a late payday. Your account was frozen due to your overdraft history not due to your veteran status.

And last...

AUTHOR: Wolf the great - (United States of America)

I cannot figure out where you can gather from anything I wrote that I was tring to access funds that were not in my account. But ive never been to Alexandria before so I dont know the manner of idiot you have walking around there. You can have your assumed opinon of me cause I d**n sure have my opinon of you. I will leave this back an forth to you and yours.
Thanks for your attention.

Wrong.

AUTHOR: Niko234 - (United States of America)

Fella, again your story has too many holes in it. This has nothing to do with you being a veteran. You wanted access to money you did not have in your account. When you tried to circumvent the system they froze your account. Quit the disabled veteran rant, it has nothing to do with it. Perhaps you should take advantage of those classes you mentioned they may help. Veteran discrimination is a serious offense that can cost quite a bit. I find it hard to believe that this bank targeted you because of your veterans status. Live up to your core values.

First off

AUTHOR: Wolf the great - (United States of America)

First off what I reported was all true. If you can find my report unbelievable than that is probably the reason I wrote the report in the first place. If I was having money management problems I would utilize my free veterans budgeting and transitional living assistance. I also felt I would not have had to go on Craigslist and pick up jobs all month when Im suppose to be recovering for d**n there getting a building brought down on top of me while you sat in front of your laptop and jacked off to consumer rip off report creep. At any rate the bank I reported is corrupt and Im only tryng to warn as many of my fellow veteran to stay away from SOUTHERN COMMERCE BANK because I was treated bad for being a vet. Your just trying to get attention or be involved with something you probably have nothing to do with loser. Yes the military does give non-manditory classes on financial money management. the same classes high school students get. If your still enlisted and you get into trouble then you just get a letter of counseling. My question is how do you manage money that you cannot access... IDK who you are or where you are but you can crawl back into your hole. You have no Idea who Iam so your just showing your down syndrome by assuming way more than you actually know. Stay out the kool-aide if .dont know the flavor

#8 Consumer Suggestion

Fella you have money management problems

AUTHOR: Niko234 - (United States of America)

First, I too am a disabled veteran so yes I am going to comment on this. Stop blaming the entire world for your problems. Guess what, we all got hurt in the same crappy desert and that is no excuse. The military taught you how to manage your finances and clearly, you cannot. Banks do not freeze accounts unless they have a reason. Trying to access unavailable funds or circumvent the system can cause that. I would bet if the bank could comment that is exactly what they would say. Also, it is not the banks fault you re-injured  yourself. That blame lies squarely on you. Your story has too many holes in it to be believable. Once again stop blaming this place for your own judgments. We are all sorry that you are disabled as am I. However, I hold true to my core values and do not blame others for my mistakes. Straighten up fella.
