On May 29th 2013 I ordered a 3.0 Toyota engine for my 1994 4Runner from Southwest Engines. I had done quite a bit of searching on the internet looking for a reasonably priced engine when I came across swengines.com. They claim to have "Grade A" Engines in stock for my model 4Runner. I made my order online for $1,770.00 dollars and recieved an email stating that my engine would ship out in 7-14 business days.....
I tried to call customer service to see if they could ship my engine a little quicker than 2 weeks since the online order form said they had it in stock. For days I continued to try to get ahold of someone in Customer Service. I called on June 1, June 3 and June 9. Finally I got a hold of someone on June 9th. I was very nice to the female who answered the phone and I asked what the status was with my order and is it possible to expidite the shipping. Without taking any order number or any information from me she said very loudly and abruptly "Your order will arrive in 7-14 business days" and hung up on me. I continued to call several times after that and no one answered the phone. I even went to every menu option to try to get a hold of someone in shipping, sales or warranty and no one would answer the phone. The menu would just place you on indefinate hold.
I finally recieved an email on June 12th stating that my engine had shipped and I was given a tracking number. Great, Finally something was coming to me. Monday the 17th of June, RL Trucking called me to make an appointment to deliver my engine. I made an appointment for the next day Tuesday the 18th and was told it would be delivered between 11 and 4. At 5 o'clock I called RL Trucking to find out where my engine was and the customer service agent stated that the shipper "Southwest Engines" had reconsigned the freight and it is not being delivered. I asked what did that mean and why did that happen? The customer service agent for RL Trucking stated that the notes on the tracking said "reconsigned on shippers request" and I would have to call back the next morning to find out more. I immediately called Southwest Engines to find out what was going on and I was placed on hold by the menu for 57 minutes until I hung up.
At 8am on Wednesday the 19th I called back to RL Trucking and asked what was the status of my shipment. Customer service stated that my engine had been rerouted to a company called Tires Plus Auto Care at 6414 NW Expressway Oklahoma City, OK 73132 by the shipper (I live in Virginia Beach Virginia)
I immidiately called my credit card company and filed a fraud report on Southwest Engines. They are investigating my claim and I still do not have my 1770 dollars back over a month later. Wait it gets better.....
On June 20th 2013, RL Trucking called me and wanted to make an appointment for delivery of my Engine. I refused the shipment on the grounds that these people are being investigated for fraud.
Still to this day on July 9th 2013 I cannot get a real person on the phone at Southwest Engines.
Save yourself a nightmare and no not do any business with these people. I should have researched them more before I placed an order.
