Hello, I heard about Spark Energy through Craigslist where they post ads in all categories promising potential employees a chance to make lots of money and advacement opportunities. My first red flag was when I was in training with the national sales director who goes by the name GT short for George and he explained that in our 3 day training class we would not be paid. I have a criminal background no felonies just small stuff so I didn't want to question my opportunity to make some fast cash. The third training day George brought me into his office and explained how I didn't pass background as usual I was disappointed and thought this would be the end like most jobs. He then told me I would work under a different agent number and would call in all my sign ups under a different user name and from that point on my name would be Markia Moore I didn't say anything because I was so happy that he was actually giving me a chance to make some money. My first day out in the field it rained all day we drove around to lower income areas in Baltimore trying to get people "save money" on their BGE by switching to Spark energy. My first day going door to door sales was a total flop I only signed up 1 person and it rained all that day mind your were outside from 12-7 pm. Only working there for two weeks I asked could I go to a newly deregulated state and to make up 3,000 dollars for one week, it sounded too good to be true. When we arrived in Pittsburgh we stayed an a extended stay hotel which me my manager Denise and another girl stared 1 full size bed. That was very unusually to me but I didn't complain. The next day when we went to the field in Westport, Pittsburgh where I was (while signing up a customer) told by the police that I was soliciting and needed a permit. At that point I was done and wanted to go home, I asked could GT pay for my bus ticket home and they said yes. Two weeks later I was paid $120 in cash and was told that the company took money out for my bus ticket and room while I was there when in reality I was only there for 2 days and they stayed the whole week. This company is money hunger and will hire anyone no matter what's on the persons background when in reality they could be sued for even having a person with an assault conviction on their record doing door to door sales. Be careful people Spark Energy is a SCAM!!!!
