Friends and I arrived at the Cancun Airport two hours before flight. We did realize that we were a hour late but stated on the itinerary is (Spirit Airlines reserves the right to cancel the reservation or seat assignment of any passenger who does not have a boarding pass at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled or posted departure; 45 minutes for Las Vegas; and 60 minutes for all international flights.)
Since we were flying internationally as long as we were there sixty minutes before the flight we should have been able to get our boarding pass. Well, we were there 120 minutes before flight. No one was at the ticket counter to issue us boarding passes so we were told we had to go to the other terminal to go to Spirit's Office.
We get to the Spirit's Office at the other terminal and I explain to the manager the situation. He then rudely and nonchantly tells us we are to late, we cant board the flight and we have to wait until Thursday to catch another flight. Thursday was twoi days later. (Keep in mind its only 12:25, our flight does not leave until 2:00.)
I showed him the itinerary where it states as long as you are at the airport 60 minutes before flight you are able to get your boarding pass. He tells us to bad we should have been here three hours before and told us to have a good day.
WHEN i SAY I AM FURIOUS, I AM FURIOUS. I had to pay a extra $500.00 to get home that night and had to spend the night over night at Miami Airport. There was no use of me arguing with this Mexican, because he looked and acted as if he hated Americans. When I finally get home, I call Spirit Airline Corporate thinking IM going to get some help. They heard my story and immediately closed the case.
Well should I say they told me to email them the complaint and then they emailed me back saying the case was closed. How can they close a case and I have not even spoking to noone about the story. No one can explain to me why they have on there itinerary you can board a flight sixty minutes before flight. I have called the Corporate Office everyday and Heather never returns my phonecalls and neither does the Managers. I called again today and Marcia had the nerve to tell me my case is closed and I cant speak to a manager. Then said I AM DISCONNECTING THIS CALL! And hung up me.
I am so p*ssed right now. I am going to every News Station that is in driving distance to report this company. I want the world to know how Spirit Airlines treat you once they get your money. I am going to fight this one. If I have to take them to court I will. Its not even about the money anymore, its the Principle.
If anyone has any additional information about this company please let me know. I have a family member that works at the news station and I need all the information I can get.
