Splendid Sparrow Designs, llc is a total scam.

I was hired by them at on 1/31/2013 and was given a company named: New Village Homes to work on. I was to set up a team to build their website. I started reading about this company and taking notes to be sure I was ready. And I was.

Splendid Sparrow was not. Suddenly the client backed out of the job. Anna, my supervisor said she would pay me anyway. My pay date was to be 2/14/13. I waited and waited and  nothing. I was told by Anna that they were having problems with their bank transfers and would straighten it out as soon as possible.

They never did.

Now I'm a bit scared. I opened a bank account for this job. Only $100 in it, but they have the bank account number.

I also filled out a W-4, which has my birthday, my SS#, where I live. Everything but my mother's maiden name!

I kept signing into the 'dashboard' or Web Panel to see if there was any work. But nothing. No one answered my emails so I had to go directly to the person who sent out the job - Joann.

Joann never answered my emails, but I did notice after I emailed her, my emails on dashboard were at least read.

It said on their website that they had been under attack by some virus and were getting back on their feet.

It also said they were moving the 1st of March. I thought maybe all this was because they were moving and you know how disruptive that can be. Yes! That's how patient I can be.

Well, here it is March 1st and the dashboard seems to be down. I can't access their website either.

I am afraid of all the information they have on me. What if they are trying to get people into this country and work under my name? What if they are applying for Credit Cards under my name? They could easily access my Credit Reports because of the information they have on me.

Please don't shake your head and laugh. It was a real job from Career Builders. I applied and I got the job. These forms I filled out are what you do when you go to work for someone.

I think maybe I should contact homeland security to let them know. But how do I do that? And what do I tell them?

I also think I should call the police in the town they "work" out of and file a report with them.

Frankly, I don't know what to do. This has given job boards all over the net a bad name. How can I ever take a job again? How do I trust a company again?

If anyone has any information as to what us people who got nailed should do, would you please post it here? (They won't let us put our email addys in this post)

Believe me, Splendid Sparrows couldn't have sounded more real. Especially as I signed a contract with them - and they with me.

Is there a way we can sue? There has to be something we can do, at least report this to the proper authorities.

Wow, now what do us people who work from home do? Trust no one and not have a job? Or keep going and learn..., err..., what are we suppose to learn from all this, I forget...!!!!

I'm steaming mad, but more than that I'm disappointed with them and Career Builders for not checking up on this.

What is the point of setting up a fake website, a fake dashboard account and a fake contract? I don't understand..., What is their point? To what end does this "help" Splendid Sparrows? I don't get it.

...sigh...
