My wife wanted to get a car for my 17 year old son and went to St. CharlesToyota/Scion in St. Charles, IL, and they ripped her off, seeing that it was just a woman making a purchase.

They stuck her with a full price car with over 100,000 miles on it and added a high priced "warranty" that they sold for one of the, in my opinion, SCAM warranty companies, at a ridiculous price too!

They advertise being a family owned long time dealer, but they were a real RIPOFF!

When I called to have them adjust the price, they failed to even apologize or make any adjustment....do not patronize these crooks....they are in my opinion cheats and cheats for local consumers!

Watch yourself, and do not trust them to be honest and fair....do not do business with them in my opinion.

I have negotiated 2 billion dollar contracts, fly a widybody airplane internationally for a major US airline, and oh, yes, I am a woman.  Comments above that criticize and victimize the man who reported the injustice targeting gender are reflective of ignorance, which means uneducated for those who mistake the definition of the word and view it as an insult.  These are the guys that often think they got a great deal when they paid too much, and need.to project and/or redirect. The facts remain.  Either the sale was fair or it wasn't. Attacking the reporter of the facts does not exonerate the seller or elevate the critics.

dealership and go into the finance department and have the Finance Manager get on the phone, with you there, and have him or her CANCEL that warranty ASAP. Make sure that you talk to the person on the other end of the phone to confirm that it is CANCELLED.

Have the warranty company send you a confirmation in the mail, or by fax, that the warranty has been CANCELLED.

A warranty for a car can be CANCELLED at any time. Make sure that you get the REFUND for the amount of the warranty sent to YOU. Don't have it sent to the dealership because they just might keep it, okay?

*Alert ALL of your Local T.V. stations about it, and keep us posted. Make sure to enclose a copy of your Ripoff Report with all of your info about what transpired and mail it to ALL of your Local T.V. stations and put it to the attention of: Investigative Reporter

I can't help but wonder why your wife would consent to a purchase of a car for your son without your help.  I can understand her looking for a car for him but for her to purchase the car herself????  You should have gone with them if you didn't think they would get a good deal.  That being said, I am a female myself and have always bought my own cars without any scamming or incident.  To be fair though, I am entitled to a certain car manufacturer's employee discount.  But before I disclosed that information, I was always treated fairly.  You should have gone with them at least for the sale of the car.  Perhaps you should have been there for the looking process as well.

If you (husbund) was so good at buying cars and making deals,then why send your wife?  No doubt all dealers suck,but the car buyer needs some smarts! Next time don't send a woman to do a mans job!
