I was sold a Stainsafe warranty on my mattress from Macy's. My 4 year old put ink markings on the mattress. The Stainsafe technician came to inspect and could not remove the ink stains from the mattress. My claim was denied because my stain has been classified as "general Soil" and I am being asked to have the mattress professionally cleaned and returned to new condition at my expense for my warranty to be in effect. So basically they are saying if I have stains on my mattress, stainsafe will not cover me, but if I clean the stains, they will cover me. That being the case, why do I need a stainsafe warranty and what do they cover? I have looked on-line and have found numerous consumer complaints about this company from too many retail stores to count, including operating without a license in California. This company is the biggest rip-off I've ever dealt with and I can't believe that they are still selling contracts, let alone by a reputable company like Macy's. In addition to adding insult to injury, their denial letter states "Stainsafe does not accept or acknowledge disputes via telephone" so I sent my responses via regular mail. I was then chastised by their supervisor, Marva, for not calling sooner.
