Never in all my years have I see a company that is so unscrupulous. If I ran MY business the way Harlem Furniture runs theirs, I would be OUT OF BUSINESS. Their Stainsafe warranty is a HUGE ripoff.
I bought a leather couch and loveseat 1 year ago. Luckily I noticed the seams coming apart in several locations BEFORE the 1 year original manufacturer's warranty ran out. The warranty specifically covers tears, RIPS, and burns.
So I called Stainsafe, and they said "Sorry, that's not a tear, it a 'seam separation', and if you look at the warranty anything not specifically mentioned is NOT covered". That is the biggest pile of dog crap I have ever heard. So, the way that Stainsafe gets out of covering a TEAR on the seam is to call it something different and say it's not covered! I have never been treated this way by any company, so it's time to sue Stainsafe and Harlem Furniture, (AFTER I fill out a complaint with the BBB, the Illinois and Florida's Attorneys General Office, and send some letters to the various media outlets to show them how many complaints Harlem and Stainsafe are getting.) Nothing like a little media attention from the major TV channel's "investigative reporting" teams to get a company to pony up with the needed repairs.
Then I called Harlem, they sent a guy out who looked at it for 1 second, and a week later I get a letter from Harlem Furniture saying they were not responsible, and that the matter was closed. No explanation, just that it was closed. (Another "fine company looking to keep as many customers as possible- especially in these tough economic times- HA!)
Also, I have lots of lawyer friends who would LOVE to file a class action lawsuit against Stainsafe and Harlem. When I told Stainsafe that the CAL would end up costing them MORE than the cost of the loveseat, they said "NO we don't think so." I guess if they let the Customer Service people make their legal decisions for them, then they will get what they deserve.
NEVER will I buy from Harlem Furniture again! RIPOFFEES unite! NOBODY buy from Harlem Furniture- EVER!!!!!

I wish i had got this site before i went to the harlem the room place and brought this warranty beacuse i was told that i could them wheni wanted my sofa clean and they would but to my suprise i call to have my sofa clean and they told that they don't just come out and clean it has to be stain so now i'm like what is this? what was the point of me buying this when i was told by the saleperson that they would come out clean this anytime i want and how many times i want and now they are like no!!! They are a big rip off and i want to file charges on them for this....
