Ok, let me just say that I worked at starcrest of california for about 4 months during 2003, let me just say it was hell. Turning 16 I was very excited about having my first real job, I applied at starcrest on a tuesday and started my shift on thursday. At orientation they told us about *some overtime (which was a total lie, I knew it was a lie the first time I worked 48 hours in one week) If you were a part timer and you worked less then 8 hours to the minute you only had a 15 minute break during your shift. and trust me they stressed it enough "if you're a part timer clock out before 8 hours" they sure as hell don't want to give you a well deserved lunch. Overtime was a joke, we all knew it was coming when we heard the infamous "go ahead and put your computer on break and head to the meeting room". We went in knowing that in less then 12 hours we would have to come in again with just a few hours notice. Even the part timers got it bad, (like me) but there was not justice for the fulltimers, 10 hour shifts every single normal day, and over time shifts were 11-12 hours. I personally can testuify to the ceiling falling because of rain simply because I was under one! I notified my supervisor and they simply put a bag over the computer and told me to move a seat over. The place is a joke, the DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA, the supervisors were pathetic, the floor manager which I may add does look like ROSS from F.R.I.E.N.D.S is actually named JOhn West if I remember correctly and the supervisor was Laurae Barnhart, aka Satan. The infinite amount of people that got their credit card numbers stolen was surprising, the TOC (Telephone order center) was also a sweat shop. Don't buy from starcrest I can personally tell you from phonecalls I've heard people don't get what they payed for, the items are jokes, why do you think they have so many free "gifts" its shitty merchandise nobody wants so they give it away.
