You should do some research on the civil and commercial codes in your state of residence, provided that you still have you original copies of the merchant agreements from both A-1 Leasing and Startup Essentials. Depending on your states laws you may find that since you dealt initially with Startup Essentials, A-1 would be the third party to the contract, rendering the contract null due to Startup's insolvency. Or better yet, maybe, if your states law deems that Startup would be the third party, and the fact that part of the merchant agreement states that in part, whole, or otherwise classified by your states laws, that A-1's obligation to perform included the assistance of the program promised in the merchant agreement provided to you by Startup as part of the contract as a whole, A-1, by fortuitous event, became unable to perform their obligation as stated in the contract, and could constitute an act of default on the part of A-1. Meaning that A-1 is, may be, or could possibly be in default of the contract making you eligible to seek damages from them. Once again though. This all depends on the laws of your state regarding contracts and also how the statute of limitations of action on your part is defined. Yes, you read that correctly. A-1 Leasing may be in default. They are, after all, also party to the binding, non-cancelable lease contract. And the fact that you have performed your obligations as stated in the contract may give any cause of action to proceed against them that you may be entitled to that much more weight in court.

I am just about finished with my lease for a cheap computer initiated by Startup Essentials as part of what I thought was a good business opportunity. $6000.00 was supposed to get me lots of free help setting up a website. What I got was a business 101 primer which can easily be obtained for free. As I progressed toward a website I was met with fees for each step. I was broke when I started. I thought the $139.00 a month was going to be my only expense. I thought wrong.

Spend your money elsewhere. Do not give your money to Startup Essentials. All you will get for your $6000.00 is a lease with Bond Corporation for a $500.00 laptop and they will still want the laptop back or $200.00 at the end of the lease.

If you were to call the FBI on something like this, they'd send you to their website.  Trust me, if they were to call. . .they'd have interest in it and would likely have picked up the delivery at your doorstep and sat down for a coffee with you. 

I don't know this lady by name or location and she is not one of my clients; so, I was very surprised to see my name on her post. What she writes here is very strange too. I have never called this a 'money-making program.' My guess is that she used to work with me and remembered that I did, in fact, enroll my own Mother into the program. My Mother earned a Master's Degree prior to informing me of her intention to start her own business. We found the program to be the best way for her to receive all of the tools and resources to jump start her business. And we looked at many options. She was not internet savvy but she is learning; and, she now makes her own changes to her website. With what is provided by Start Up Essentials at $139 per month, it was a very easy decision. But my Mother also knew that she would have to do the work on Her Business in order to make any money. That's just common sense. Not everyone should be in business for themselves. It is hard work. And the rewards do not come easy. I have talked more people OUT of enrolling with Start Up Essentials by sharing this message; but, I don't want any misunderstandings with my clients. I work for and with many very straight-forward, hard working people who genuinely care for the long-term best interests of the clients. But I don't know the hearts of everyone. I've seen the scores of customer service and technical support employees brought on to enhance the program. The constant attention to enhancing client experience is obviously expensive and the reinvestments appear to be made to RETAIN clients. I can't imagine a company re-investing in customer operating platforms and customer program infrastructure without management having a long-term view for the customer. That just makes good business sense. However, with a growing company, it is not possible to please everyone, especially 'performance pay only' employees; however, management seems to be investing enormous amounts of money to please the customers. The story about the FBI is utter nonsense, intended as vicious rumor in order to hurt the company by scaring people away. I've checked out the company. My Mother has experienced and continues to enjoy the value of the resources and tools. My advice is to surround yourself with people who inspire and motivate you and find something where you can excel. If you want to be in business for yourself, this company has much to offer to help you do just that-be in business for yourself; but you've got to work at it. And for crying out loud, the laptop is just one of the many tools included to help. So many times, just having a working computer that is not on the fritz means getting the work done. And this is how I know this lady is not for real; my customers know all this and a whole lot more before we ever agree to anything.

You're right... kevin Devoto does pull up as a felon. And what's crazy? He used the same CHASE BANK pitch that Startup Essentials uses to rope in their victims.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the FBI recommended you return the materials.

I find it unbelievable that the FBI would call you and tell you to return the equipment and to NOT take their phone calls. If in fact the FBI is investigating this company, they certainly would have told you to continue to take the telephone calls, and would provide you the equipment to record the conversations in order to gather valuable evidence against the company.

Normally, the FBI would interview you and admonish you against revealing any information of investigation against supposed offending persons. Then, they would ask you to participate in recorded or monitored phone calls.

I keep reading about how some people allege that people at Start Essentials commit fraud yet not a single person has provided me any evidence to pursue a lawsuit against this company. My contact information is posted on this site and NOT ONE of the supposed people who say they will participate in a lawsuit has contacted me.

From my initial readings on this site, I originally believed there was a chance of a good lawsuit against Start Essentials; however, I am more convinced that it sounds like Start Essentials is the one being scammed by people who have no intention of honoring their business commitments.
