Ripoffreport shouldn't have to be the forum for this, but Senator Grendell wont discuss this situation in any professional way, and my RN mother has pleaded with him, although he knows that the State Medical Board has cheated (Rorschach test with no answers), lied (invented an 'impairment' diagnosis that doesn't exist), and obstructed resolution of the unfair case against me at the State Medical Board of Ohio for 16 YEARS NOW for objecting to wrong care in 1990-2; in effect WASTING my physician education and life. You can't get married with this on the docket. My case doesn't go along with any Ohio physician impairment law. And he knows that my case is a big JOKE at the State Medical Board of Ohio that the Medical Board can get away with this and not be sued because they are protected by the State of Ohio & the practical joke Marc Dann Attorney Generals Office of Ohio. Cases at the State Medical Board of Ohio go on for DECADES when they can't prove their case against a physician, and the physician won't admit the lies and ridiculous conditions of re-licensure. The State Medical Board of Ohio has no procedural way or rules to admit a mistake, especially when it involves a woman physician, and get the physician back to practice faulty legislation. The only WAY is to TRY to sue the State of Ohio = a monetary black hole. Senator Grendell can't draft MISTAKE LAW legislation, which over 35 other states have, can't just follow the 35 other examples/precedents (nor can Matthew Dolan), nor draft fair policy legislation concerning all physicians being able to get their files at the State Medical Board of Ohio to defend against false complaints or fix the problem. This is an Ohio 'Reign of Terror' with physician licenses being lopped off, with the least nonsensical hearsay, for statistics = no rules of evidence. Ohio has one of the HIGHEST false complaint statistics for physicians in the country and there's no way to clear your record, reduce your malpractice, or resurrect your career if you aren't allowed to know WHAT the problems are or who accused you (a former classmate in my case) - unless you are Dr. Timothy Nice he and other ol' boy XY constituents get their files, without lawyers or legal fees, as they have friends and favored Suppes connections with the State Medical Board of Ohio. So Dr. Nice has money for polo ponies and a polo team. The Membership of the Ohio State Medical Board rarely changes; many Members have been there for over a decade now, ie Dr. Anita Steinbergh. The Senate Health Committee's selection process of Medical Board Members also needs to be updated, revised, and made more reasonable, or unbiased, to allow experienced and esteemed clinicians to be considered/voted on rather than JUST the Governor's 'choice.' Senator Grendell knows this, as every other State Senator does, and can't do that either. Male physician constituents (Dr. Timothy Nice) don't have to hire expensive law firms like Hahn Loeser & Parks, like I did, to try to understand what they are accused of or correct their Medical Board files. Much of this case has been to vindictively bankrupt my family for my disagreeing with Dr. Nice who tried to care for serious hand fractures when he wasn't a hand surgeon and wouldn't consult or refer. Dr. Nice couldn't admit a mistake or that he needed to REFER; the problem with most male physicians and legislators in Ohio is that they are NEVER WRONG. So, if as a WOMAN physician you can't get the complaint against you in Ohio, it means that care disputes, ie colleague disagreements, end in disciplinary actions of the least powerful or woman physician ie the worst liar. In my case all I did was object to the WRONG CARE of myself and not go along with the boys being boys' (made too much? of negligence and malpractice that most patients would be allowed to collect compensation $ for - yet I wasn't even allowed the medical records/referrals for the consultants to try to 'fix' things) the frat-party that passes for medical care in the Hillcrest-University Cleveland area. There's no NON-DISCIPLINARY PATHWAY for physicians, as the state of MINNESTOTA has, that just don't go along with the boys and ACCEPT the bad results of orthopedic care in Ohio; no non-disciplinary way for women physicians to not accept that 'nothing can be done.' In summary, I needed more real care, or I would break more bones, so my medical license was suspended so that I wouldn't get the care - and I BROKE 5 MORE BONES. And at this point the lab work is inarguably in my favor that something else was metabolically/endocrine-wise wrong causing fractures, and continued fracturing, and that the fractures were not simple. All OB-GYN Members on the State Medical Board of Ohio should have made the assessment in 1992, if they weren't partying, that my fractures were estrogen-deficiency fractures, before taking my medical license with no lab work but Ohio State Medical Board Members don't believe in blood work. So Senator Grendell's only intervention in 2003, was to get me ordered to a $5,000 all-day 8-hour-intense psychiatric evaluation with a former law school classmate, Dr. Phil Resnick, a state 'cleaner,' while my bone density and thyroiditis remained untreated because Dr. Fred Lafferty of University Hospitals wouldn't admit that he gave Dr. Keith the wrong assessment in 1991 so Dr. Lafferty refused to refill the synthroid in 2003-4. If you make a mistake, just keep making more is the mantra in Ohio medicine. Dr. Lafferty can read a bone density but, as to diagnosis of anything endocrine, should have retired long ago. So with a deteriorating osteoporotic bone condition, an untreated thyroiditis, and lab values a mess, I was ordered to participate in this Resnick-Grendell farce as the only way of getting my medical license returned from the State Medical Board of Ohio per Grendell. The clincher: I was not to be allowed the complaint file of what I'm accused of yet again - which his Judge wife should find interesting and question the legality of. And, these evaluations discuss everything BUT my physician patient care, your dates, sexual preferencies, why you don't 'like' Dr. Nice. And I've had 5 evaluations so far, while not being allowed medical care for the diagnoses that I really have so that I can get back to work; this was to be the 6th GO at me that the State of Ohio was requiring a last-ditch fishing expedition to try to find something wrong with my personality to justify 16 years of a LOST medical career a personality that the patients find no objections to, ie no patient complaints. And Senator Grendell's Judge wife should read this report about her husband's complete lack of understanding of women's medicine, his not giving women physicians the same chance or files that the men get, and his failure to do anything except say that I should give jobs the excuse that my medical license was taken for not doing my CME a total lie that his secretary told me to use. But lying is a modus operandi for the Republican Members as well as the Democrats in the Ohio legislature. And, Senator Grendell is probably going to try to run for the Attorney General's Office if Marc Dann resigns or is impeached. So, this Grendell pre-fixed evaluation was refused, while needed medical care was disallowed, resulting in another fracture in early 2004 trying to work in a lab at Northeast Ohio College of Medicine, and 4 more years of no medical license. Throughout this 16-year fight, that Dr. Nice/Keith/Lafferty don't have to do standard of care, I've been told, despite Boards in Internal Medicine, that I should work in some lab with chronic untreated thyroid inflammation (most labs today use radioactive isotopes which are not a GOOD THING for thyroid problems) a diagnosis that was missed as Dr. Fred Lafferty of University Hospitals of Cleveland/Green Rd thinks that thyroid disease should be treated as it was 30 years ago allowing TSHs to climb into liver fibrosis and hypercholesterolemia ie totaly 'blow out' the thyroid. Meanwhile, male physicians are allowed to get their complaint files at the State Medical Board of Ohio, even uninvestigated complaints, so that they can target the person/physician/patient who complained, ie Dr. Timothy Nice. And, I only complained in 1991 when Dr. Nice CONTINUED to obstruct the salvage of my fractures, which he had mismanaged (no question about that), and because he wouldn't send my medical records or stop harassing me for patient referrals. He's one of the designated 'RIGHT' physicians in Ohio. This complaint was literally handed to Dr. Nice so that he could go on a signature campaign against me at Hillcrest Hospital, for a counter-complaint, that then led to my hospital privileges and medical license being suspended in 1992. The complaint remains confidential to this day, through 2 Hearings and the Ohio Court of Appeals reversing the Medical Board's decision in 1993. However, there's no way to end this mess without opening that 'confidential' complaint, as there are no patient complaints against me, and some procedural reforms to get physicians back who have had their medical licenses unjustifiably suspended, with their practice and credibility destroyed for politics. Mine is a political case. Senator Grendell needs to stop the preferential-guy FRAUD that he is currently involved in before running for the Attorney General's Office again. Senator Grendell needs to draft and support FAIR procedural laws to protect all physician reputations and careers from false complaints or disciplinary actions by the State Medical Board of Ohio; what every Ohio physician has to carry over $25,000 of 'malpractice' insurance to protect against. This needs to start with my case as soon as possible before I break another bone or my hip; before 2008 ends. Women voting for Senator Grendell's re-election should be cautioned that he's against the improvement of women's medical care in Ohio, and against procedural changes at the State Medical Board of Ohio to allow women physicians a chance at fairness (he'll only do it if the rest of the guys do). Senator Grendell has woman physicians ordered to expensive unneeded uncovered-by-medical-insurance evaluations with classmates who will cover for Medical Board and male physician mistakes. Meanwhile, state MEDICAL MISTAKE LAWS, similar to Pennsylvania and other states, would fix at least some part of the male physician mistake problem in missing diagnoses in women patients. In 2003-4, Senator Grendell had ME call the Ohio Speaker's Office to see if the Speaker would support legislation to get the physician files at the State Medical Board of Ohio opened. What I found out was that (1) all current Ohio legislators know that there is a PROBLEM - that there are piles of false physician cases/disciplinary actions in the State Medical Board of Ohio files, ie potentially suit cases for the State of Ohio, and that mine was only one of the worst and longest; (2) that opening the physician files will start a government paralyzing long-term legal 'mess' for the Ohio State Medical Board, because of the confidential file practice of the last 2 decades; (3) that the legislature isn't prepared for this happening and so false cases have to continue for the present; and (4) that no one cares if my life is destroyed, if my career ever comes back or if I die from an untreated fractured hip in meantime - the state has to protect the state. In summary, no one will draft the legislation as it will lead to a pile of legal suits against the State of Ohio and reconsideration of boxes of old cases and rulings without legal discovery or due process. Senator Grendell needs to draft a law that will allow physicians access to their files and correction of their records before running for any more offices. Most falsely accused physicians will probably forgo the suit of the State of Ohio, as it won't end in their lifetimes, to have timely correction of their records, reductions in medical malpractice insurance fees, and improvements in their careers and family life. To know that you are innocent and vindicated is worth more than any money, and Senator Grendell needs to allow women physicians the same chances as Dr. Timothy Nice. I can't keep telling jobs that this was about my CME. Marc Dann may be lying about what is going on in Columbus, but so is Senator Timothy Grendell.
