I was a regular customer of steak and shake and they always got my order wrong. To this day they still get my order wrong if i go there. If you call back, the managers will tell you that your name is in a book and they will compensate you, but when you go back there, the people say your name isn't there and they treat you as if you're trying to scam them.

Of course as all fast food workers they are very brain dead and stupid. Recently I went there and placed a huge order, and an employee there handed me my change, a tomato and kept askign me why I was still there. I was like.. im waiting for my order (you mentally incompetent twit). He then handed me a milkshake walked off and two minutes later walked back, and said "what do you need." I'm like.. my order??! He then handed me my order 10 minutes later and of course it was all wrong, and then he was giving me dirty looks for his own stupidity and errors.

There is a redneck hillbilly skinny loser manager there who is very rude and bullies customers, and if you go there and tell them that your name is in there.. after four bad experiencs (in essence they owe you four burgers but you're just taking the one) he'll claim you're lying and also say that "his" (it's not even his restaurant, he's merely just one of the idiot managers there) restaurant has the best customer service in the nation! He'll lie and say your name isn't there, but when you call back the next day and ask another manager if it is, they'll find it.

This jerk is slime and this steak n shake has horrible service and terrible managers. Not only do the managers there treat customers badly, not even compensate people for things they say they will, they even lie to them and tell them that their restaurant is the best in the nation .. The steak n shake on E colonial drive near UCF is by far the WORST steak n shake ever, with the dumbest most incompetent people who work there, can never get people's orders right and then harass customers after screwing their orders up. There are some very low class jerks and seriously mentally incompetent jerks and illiterate brain dead managers who work at that particular restaurant.

I totally agree with the original poster. i used to take my kids there, but now i avoid it. our orders were never complete. we got the wrong food or we were missing lots of it.
if you get take out, they seem to forget your there. they take your money and you sit down and never get your food unless you ask for it over and over again. they seem to get angry your asking for it. they will stare at you and look confused for about 15 minutes and then ask why your there. then procede to do this 20 more minutes.

Just a quick suggestion..

Rather than call the manager a scumbag, why don't you provide evidence as to why he is one? That way, you can "prove" that he is a scumbag without actually saying it. While the manager might be subpar, calling him names isn't providing any evidence as to why he is a bad manager.

When I read a report like this and see name calling, my first reaction is to infer that this is a personal falling out between the manager and someone who wants revenge. Perhaps the manager fired you and you want to get back at him.

A mature person would provide evidence as to why the manager wasn't doing his job and let the reader decide whether or not the manager was doing his job.

I had worked at the Steak & Shake in Elizabethtown KY for a long 5 years now and I agree with you about what your saying. (Shocking to say the least.) The management is nothing but a joke and 60% of it's employees are immature little kids. The managers are just as smart as the employees when it comes to quality.

After 2 years they offered me a promotion to Production Trainer and I accepted it so I could fix the crap I got tired of putting up with. The main reason is because I was fed-up of hearing complaints. I should have known that all my attempts would go through management and possible improvements were only tossed in the trash. It was about that time when I stopped trying. "No one has got any sense"!

THE DISHWASHER assigned to work 2nd shift (evenings) doesn't even wash dishes. About 80% of all plates and pans were getting sent right back to him, you think he might get the point!" I even began handing out free food to customers who complained, (my position doesn't allow me to but I did anyway). This was probably why customers had asked to speak to me indtead of the managers.

However, I did investigate each situation to catch freeloaders. Even though everyone can't be like me, I would want to give you some tips on how you can get whats deserved since it's hard to find a reliable manager. If you do complain to them, they will indeed tell you that you contact info has to be recorded and sent to corporate, then they issue the free food tickets, called green bucks.

If you find a manager who is unhelpful, ask for a comment card and the front will have the contact info needed to speak to the CEO or president. If all else fails then ask for the name and personal phone number to the district manager. I my 5 years of employment with SNS, the district manager is the only trust worthy person there and he WILL correct the situation. I hope you all found this info useful. thanks,
