Steve Vartanian Steven Vartanian Lied and misrepresented the qualifications of his clients and witholds properties from the market so as to collect double commissions unfairly Yorba Linda, California

I have just spent almost a month being jerked around by Steve Vartanian of First Team Real Estate in Yorba Linda California. He did to me what was described by the original complainant in this string. In addition, he refused to send the buyer my first offer and then he raised my 'required' deposit from $5,000 to $30,000. And twice during my negotiations he changed the terms and conditions on the MLS without advising me or my agent.

In his counter offer to me he wanted to reduce my inspection time to only 5 days and he wanted the seller to remain in the house 3 days AFTER the close of escrow with no compensation to me. His final shot was that after he received my counter offer that had been signed by the seller, instead of sending it to the bank for short sale approval, he held my counter offer 3 days until it expired.

For you doubters out there, I have documented proof of all of this and more. I welcome contact via Ripoff by any California attorney who would like my case against Steve and the broker he operates under.

We have also had problem with him not submiting our offer. Wanting a larger deposit and asking for
different thing in the offer paper which buyer agreed to ,and telling me that the seller didn't agree when they
did. And him telling me that he had other buyer, he wants to double end his commissions. And not able to
give us a counter offer,because he new that the seller wouldn't go for it.So he let the offer expire, and not call
back. And there is so much more.

First, the "anonymous" person who complained about the "anonymous" people needs to look in the mirror... 

Secondly, I am another Realtor in the area Steve works and can honestly tell you that I and many of my colleagues have experienced his completely unethical behavior.  But no one want's to put their name on this because everyone knows how nasty Steve can be and he will just throw our/their offers away if their buyer want's to buy one of his listings.  It's not worth having Steve do more damage than he already does out of retaliation.

I work at a company that Steve wanted to work at and had he joined, many of us would have quit! 

Steve likes to play the "nice" guy and say all of the right things, but his greed shows through and we don't trust him but are stuck with him and his fake smile!

Whomever wrote the first post, was right on!  And I'm sure more Orange County Realtors will be sharing their opinions the more Steves friends write rebuttals to try and cover up his behavior.

I heard from another agent recently that Steve asked her to cut her commission so he could make more and he would get her offer accepted then.  This other agent has no reason to make that up.  And that is horribly unethical! 

I've been on Steves expired listings and heard from those sellers that he lied to them the entire time, extended listings and changed the list price without their signatures. Unbelievable!  He thinks the law doesn't apply to him!

I'm going to tell them to write a comment on this site too!  The customer is always right!

Whoever wrote this... Thanks for trying to expose Steves behavior!  Thank goodness for the internet!

Pretty sure the author is a sales manager at a an office where Mr. Vartanian used to work and is a little man who has nothing to do with his time but to slam other agents. By the way, it is against the Realtor code to make allegations publicly against another Realtor. 

I think its very terrible that someone can file a completely defamatory complaint about someone without signing their name. Seems like the internet has lost control. The aurthor of this compliant should step up and say who they are, probably just a disgruntled Real Estate Agent! This has got to stop!

I appreciate Laura Patterson with BofA's rebuttal to defend Steve Vartanian, (she is his friend) but she has no idea as to the validity of her comment as there has been no official response to the complaints from BofA to date.  No investigations have been conducted to discover whether this is true or not, and if they did one, they would find that this is the truth.  But there are requests for investigations submitted to no avail according to local Realtors.   According to Steve Vartanian, Laura Patterson was directly involved in trying to help him obtain a property for substantially less than market value due to their friendship as purported by Steve Vartanian.

Bank of America has stict proceedures to ensure all parties act in a fair and ethical manner on REO inventory. Mr. Vartanian is a very successful Real Estate agent in Orange County in good standing.  The fictional account published is an attempt to derail his business.  I encourage you to take the time to call Mr. Vartanian for the name of the author.
