Scam artists. Can't be more dead on. I'm in the US Airforce, deployed to the middle east, AKA the Iraq area. Needed a camera for my job, along with helping me stay entertained.

Stop4Camera instead charged me without my permission for around 800 dollars worth of accessories I told them I didn't want. Just the camera body. They said fine, and then hung up. Checked my account days later, expecting to see a 675 dollar transaction. Instead saw a 419.99 charge.

Called them, they said they were charging me in installments, without my permission I might add, and that they had called me bank numerous times to get them to approve the 1,419.99 charge they tried. Thankfully my bank has more sense than that and denied it, so I imagine they kept trying lower and lower numbers until they hit 419.99 and it approved.

I called them, and they tried to pull this crap that they were just trying to help me. Yeah, right. So I told them, I already bought it from B & H Photo, and they didn't have my permission anyways. I demanded the charge reversed immediately, and they said they would at the 15% restock fee. I pointed them to their own policies, in which they said they meant the 15% refund fee. According to their policies, '* We do not charge your credit card until your order is ready to ship.'

I asked the rep, is my order ready to ship. He hesitated and then said no, it wasn't. I told him to give me a full refund, as they were in breach of their policies. He said no, and we promptly got into a shouting match. He finally caved in and said, 'Fine, Fine its canceled, but I'm charging you the 15% fee' and hung up. Since then, I have emailed them numerously, along with the BBB, FTC, and New York IG.

What follows is a brief transcript of my emails with them:

I'm sorry, I was suppose to be getting a 419.99 full refund, as neither the
camera has been sent out, nor was it ready to be sent out when I called.
According to your policy, you will not charge the consumer until the product

is ready to ship, and when I asked one of your customer service reps, he
said it was not ready to ship. I appreciate you resolving this matter.

I've yet to receive a response from them since, after the last email I sent them, in which I assured them I would retaliate with the help of the mentioned agencies above. I understand this complaint is long, but so is the amount of crap I've endured, and time spent trying to resolve this situation. Please, everyone. Beware of this company and their other many names.
