Storage Stop Storage Stop Self Storage Warning Do Not Use !!! Magnolia, Texas
We are having a huge problem with a storage and your help is needed. We have seen manger enter buildings that were marked for storage auctions and have her family remove items and we have heard of the owner doing the same as well, but we kept quite but now it has happend to us.We were late on our payments and we were sent notice. Red locks were added and we were locked out of the gate. Locks were cute by office. Our building was set for auction. We paid 2500 dollars a day before the auction and the locks were removed.
Boy were we supprised when we noticed that they had went threw boxes and trunks and items were gone from our
building. The owner and manger had hand picked our building and stollen stuff they wanted. We then complanined to office and they went ahead and red locked our building again and with out any notice. We had told them we were getting a list together and i guess they didnt want that so in order to prevent us from knowing what all they stole they just red locked our building. Payment was due at the time but it was not late, we still had days till payment was late. Couldd
not figure out why when we made payment, the manger kept saying she was sorry.
There was no need for her to be sorry, we were late and had no problems paying what we were behind. But we paid them and they stole our stuff.We did have a conversation with manger and she said she did have our dolly in the front that she had used it to move boxes, but why would she take our dolly when the storage has plenty of dollys? The point is nothing was to be removed from our building as law states. And the other stuff is still missing. They said that they would call this months rent even for the stollen items, funny if they are not guilty why would that do that? The problem is that sofar the items that were stollen cost more than what is owed to them. And we still dont know what all is missing
because we were red locked without reason once again.Our building is full of antiques and collectables and artwork so why in the auction listing did they only claim normal eveyday items........why? i think i can answer that.... it is
because they were plaining on removing all the high dollar items and selling them seperate from the building and this is illegal. A storage building is to be sold intact for what is owed and if it sells for more than what is owed, the
difference has to be given back to the owner as state law states. So we want our items back..........And we want acess to our unit so we can figure out exactly what was stollen from us. Still to this day no notices have been sent about the
red locks or late payments on our unit.

Update Since Letter Was
Written........On Augest 31 i finally recieved a late notice but i have a huge problem. We paid late fees on 7/20/2012 and Auction date was 7/21/2012. We were locked out again by 7/26/2012, our rent was not late and nor was it due by
the contract i have found. This late notice does not have a red lock fee nor does it say they have red locked it. The late notice i finally recieved does state that 7/27/2012 rent was due and 8/11/2012 late fee was added and 8/27/2012
rent was due and if payment was not made in 7 days from from date of notice additional fees will be added. We want acess to our unit. We want our stollen items returned and we will be happy to pay then. We were locked out because we
were complaning about stollen items and were trying to come up with a list of items stollen... This is crap. Our rent is due by the 30th and we are late on the 15th per contract. We also have one building which is a 14 by 90 with 2
doors. We have been told in the past that we get 2 late fees since each door is numbered so we are charged 40 bucks. We signed a contract back in 2009 when we were in a smaller building and manger never made us sign a new one and it states we will recieve a 20 dollor late fee if not paid by 15 days after the 30th of each month. I can fax my first late notice and the contract if needed. We also have a recorded conversation with manger stating she had one of our stollen
items in front and offering to call rent even for stollen items. But what is missing cost more than what is owed to them and we still do not have a complete list of stollen items because we were red locked before we were even due. We
waited to file complaints till we could talk to owner which would never return our calls and finally we tracked him down augest 30 and have been fighting with the manger since items were noticed gone locks were put back on our building.
Manger refused to give us owners number.
