So I thought leaving AT&T to go to Straight Talk would better myself in many ways...guess I was wrong!
Ordered a straight talk phone last month in Feb, I just paid my 1st months payment on Friday 3-15-13. My phone/internet worked fine until Saturday night around midnight. Those bastards turned my internet off after I made my 1st payment of $45.56. I called on Sunday and of course no one could help me b.c it was the weekend. They kept transferring me to some automated line just to get me off thier case. Lets just say the automated machine only explains their terms and conditions. It doesn't give you any options to do anything else, except keep listening or hang up. So I called on Monday 3-18, lady stated to me that the reason why my internet was cut off is b/c I "violated" the terms and condition law on data usage! WTF?? How can there be restrictions on data usage when its UNLIMITED??? Straight Talk stated to me that they "assumed" I was tethering or streaming videos and music so thats why the cut my internet off, even though I just paid the bill on Friday 3/15. I simply play a game on my phone that happens to run through the internet. Im not tethering, streaming or whatever you want to call it under Straight Talk termonologies. I am on my game most of the time but I also make calls and texts. I explained info to straight talk Rep and she stated she would put in a ticket to get it resolved and back on and it would take 24 hours. I called on Tuesday 3/19 b/c my internet was still not working, got the run around a few times, was transferred to that stupid automated recording again, until finally I had to get rude and speak to a supervisor. I spoke to a lady named Stephanie which was supervisor. She told me it would take 24-48 hours to be resolved. I explained to her thats not what I was told and can she please help me ASAP. She stated to me that there was nothing she could do until her system showed that data payment has cleared and that ticket was resolved. She gave me a manager phone # to call if my internet was not back on within 24 hours and she also gave me their corporate # in the US. BTW Stephanie was not in the US, I was talking to a forgiegner in COLUMBIA!!! I asked her if there were any call centers in the US and she said NO, there is only our Corporate office! So now I know im dealing with people that arent even in the US. So it is now Wed 3/20, Havent got my internet back, called both #'s that Stephanie gave me and what do you know.....I stay on hold for 45 mins to an hour, cant get anyone to help me, answer my questions, or get my internet working after I've already paid my bill!! I am very dissappointed in Straight Talk Customer Service. I feel like they are giving FALSE Advertisment, b/c if it was "unlimited" then you shouldnt turn someone's internet off (especially after I just paid the bill on time and full amount) If something is unlimited, that means it never ends......Straight Talk assumed I was violating terms and condtions and never once tried to contact me to ask or advise, so instead they assumed and cut it off. Im highly pissed and frustrated with this company and I'm a 1st time customer! DONT BUY STRAIGHT TALK PHONES OR SERVICES if you like to play games on your phone. They will cut you off and then leave you hanging and not help out, or answer phones! Im still on hold as I type this and its Wed 3/20 @ 2:36pm and I still have no internet!
