Dr. Jeffrey Hamm of STRAX Rejuvenation of Lauderhill, Florida botched my wifes breast enhancement surgery and at first blew her off and wouldn't even acknowledge his mistake. Then when he finally admitted to it, he was very nice and friendly until he had one of his constintuants try and have my wife fill out an "IRON CLAD" dislcosure that relinquished both him and the STRAX company from all legal liablity if he happened to fatally wound or incapacitate my wife when on the opeating table or have any compications after fixing his mistake.
She neither denied nor agreed to sign the form but just asked if she could have her attorney take a look at it just to protect herself. When hearing this they began to mistreat her and were very disrespectful, afterwards they told her that she could take the form home and that they would call her to begin making arrangements for scheduling the surgery to fix his mistake.
After not hearing from them for a month she finally decided to call them and ask them why they were treating a patient who did nothing wrong; except seek them for there services and hadn't even had the decency to see how she was doing after her surgery. And they responded by saying that she had chosen not to fill out the form and that's what was holding up the effort to correct her botched surgery.
During this conversation she was transferred to a man named Mark S. in which he basically scolded her on the telephone as to why she didn't sign the form. She expressed that due to the fact that the situation on hand was not due to her fault and she shouldn't be obligated to be cohersed into signing over her rights in due part to satiffying their company in order to have her medical malpractice procedure correctified and that it was in her best interest not to sign anything unless her attorney look over the paper work.
His response was and I QUOTE "OH I CAN TELL YOU WHAT THAT FORM SAYS; IT'S FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU CAN'T F**KING TALK S**T ABOUT OUR F**KING COMPANY OR THE WORK WE PERFORM! As you can imagine my wife was in utter shock at the lack of professionalism from this idiot. He had the audacity to verbally attack my wife when his idiot surgeon botched her surgery. They should be kissing her a** after what they did.
My wife told them that she's sorry for protecting her self from money hungry predators who were so nice and friendly when she first when in for a consultation but when they realized they screwed up were nasty and treated her like crap. And she would of gladly signed the for if they didn't seem more concerned about covering their own a** and not getting sued as opposed to being more concerned about making her happy and rectiying the situation.
This was an anniversary gift for my wife and a thank you from me for her putting up with constant departures and long working hours while I serve my country in the United States Navy. Everything I do is for my wife and when a civilian thanks me for my service to my county I tell them the person they should be thanking is my wife because she's the one making the real sacrifices keeping my family together in times like these when I'm smack in the middle of an 11 month deployment and I have to take time to write complaints like these in order to receive some kind of justice; when on a U.S. Naval Ship while I'm right outside one of the worst war torn regions in the World.
I wouldn't allow my wife to go back to STRAX Rejuvenation even if they offered to correct the surgery and not make me pay for any of their services at all. I love my wife to much to allow these shady people to even get near her again, they would probably kill her on the operating table purposely just so they wouldn't have to deal with her anymore. I'm sorry that my wife's not an idiot and didn't adhere to your companies wishes of being cohersed to sign such a one sided document, but she shouldn't have been put in that position anyway if had competent doctors who could perfomr there jobs correctly. I understand that no one in this world is perfect and people make mistake but at least have some dignity and own up to your mistakes, these people don't have a moral or ethical bone within there bodies they don't care about their patients at all and are all about the money.
And as for Mr. Mark S. I will guarantee you this had I been in the United States when you disrespected my wife on the telephone there would definitely be a different outcome to this story! In the Military if we don't do our jobs correctly people die, I imagine it's exactly the same if not more emphasized within the medical field; however the only difference is that we get held accountable for our actions because there's no insurance company that's going to save us from going to Leavenworth.
I would say that my biggest complaint is that this man is still performing surgeries. He's already had a settlement with a botched surgery that was similar to my wife's and there's another doctor who's had a couple of surgeries that have ended fatally. And these people continue to work as if nothing ever happened. I guess I can consider my wife lucky that she made even made it out of the operating table alive. Please do your research before seeking the services form this company or any other one.
