Student Loan Assistance Center, aka Student Loan Help One or Affordable Student Loan Consolidation Student Loan Consolidation Scam Margate Florida

In October 2015, I received a call from Student Loan Assistance Center (also identified as both Student Loan Help and Affordable Student Loan Consolidation) inquiring about consolidating my student loans. I was informed the fee would be $699 for them to consolidate the loans at a much better interest rate. I was misled in that SLAC represented themselves as the consolidator and thought charge was a loan origination fee.

However, they merely requested a six month forbearance. Upon my regular inquiry SLAC stated that they were working on the consolidation. However, I received a letter from Navient indicating that my payments are now past due. I called Navient to see about the consolidation and they said it has never been requested.  As of July 2016, the loans had not been consolidated nor had there been any attempt to consolidate them. I've called Evelyn Esquirte, Processor several times and never hear back from them. I have since consolidated the loans myself.

DO NOT use SLAC, they are scammers!

Apparently, the principals are David Lilly and Frank Ortiz. My advice, stay away from any company associated with them.
