Before Christmas of 2011, Subscriber Services Rep contacted me Offering $100 gift certificate to Walmart. After going thru and asking are you sure it's a real gift certificate I can just shop with? The 1st  nice marketer lady said you can go shop at wall mart & shop as soon as you get it.  I can get some free magazines and it for Only $16.87 but I would get some magazines of my choice. She didn't tell me how many months at this point. All she wanted me to concentrate on is $100 for $16.87 and I get magazines of choice.  She got my checking account info. (she was so nice on phone I thought it was real, I feel like an idiot) I thought it was all done but she said she has to transfer me to someone else.  She reassured me I would get my $100 gift certificate real soon. Her superviser or someone just needed to make sure It was really me.  I got xfered & 2nd nice lady spoke with me.  She went on & on said she was gonna record my name address, I said ok. we talked and I asked if the gift certificate was real she said yes. than toward the end I asked "how long do I have to pay $16.87...  she said while laughing or something I almost missed it...60 months... I said what, I can't afford that. that's paying over $1000 for magazines.  I wanted to cancel it but she said she'll bring it down to 2 years for same price blah blah but I'll get my gift certificate and it makes it ok. I agreed on 2 year.( I liked the magazines I picked) 

Week later I got something in the mail:

Company charging me $16.87 for 60 months...Not agreed on & it's in company recording

No $100 gift certificate ($20 monthly rebate but I have to spend $500 Total using Major Credit Card...)

Allow 60--120 days to get new service started.

As of today (1/3/12) they already took money out of my checking account.

Instead of a $100 gift certificate... I got rebate "certified registration is required to start this rebate process" letter.    I have to send via certified mail, along with a self addressed stamped envelope.  Allow 30 days to process. Once Reward Redemption receives my Registration form they will send me a form to choose "Walmart" or desired merchant it will take how ever long.  When I finally get my first $20 (not $100 like 1st nice lady said & main reason I joined) rebate I CAN'T use it, I Must first spend $100.00 per month using major credit card only, than send it in rebate than wait...

I can't believe it...I have to spend total $500 ($100 a month) using a Major credit card ONLY (I don't have cc) AND I have to pay for 60 months which is 5 years.  I didn't sign for.  I listened to their recording when I called in saying this wasn't my order and it does state toward the end "I can't afford 60 months" the lady did say her supervisor approved 2 years. Also when I listened to their recording, it doesn't have my questions regarding making sure it was a Real Gift Certificate & I can use it to shop at Walmart. I didn't hear that part only the 2 year but they billed me for 5 years anyway. What can I do. I can use their recordings as proof Subscriber Services, Inc are using false advertisement. They record only the conversation with the 2nd lady acting like they are just trying to get your name right. 

I hope nobody else falls for this scam. Wow these folks are very good at what they do. They have nice honest sounding women to talk even told me "oh yes, when you get your gift certificate you can go out and buy the kids some toys for christmas" This company is really good because the first lady disctracted me by selling the gift certificate mentioned the free magazines than the payment like it was just a one time charge than I can just continue if I wanted more. That was the impression I got.  I said are you sure they won't take another payment out of my checking account automatically and she said that they won't.  I didn't hear that recording of me asking about the gift certificate and no more payment out of my checking only a one time thing. 

As of yesterday 1/2/12, I called to cancel but was not able to. Tiffany said to listen to recording & I did and it did say 2 year not 5 years.  I got put on hold.  I called back put on hold again. So far no luck with cancelling.  I called again today (1/3/12) and no answer.
