My 18 year old daughter was promised a raise would show up on her next paycheck, two and a half months later NOTHING. I called Subway headquarters and they passed the buck, I called the local office and they too passed the buck. FINALLY when I had bugged them enough to light a fire under them they said my daughter would need to be reevaluated (even though she had already been evaluated and supposedly given a raise "that she NEVER saw") She was re-evaluated and told that she would get a raise (the same amount she was origionally to get)

However that never happened. they then proceeded to give her the crappy hours (that she was NOT AVAILABLE to work and had already given that info to her manager MONTHS before)they doubled her hours to work and made her workplace umbareable. I made her quit due to the treatment she was getting. SHE STILL DID NOT GET THE RAISE SHE WAS PROMISED!!!!!!!!!!

Cheated by a company? Children have a nursery rhyme that explains what to do. One for you, and two for me.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

Missing that raise you were expecting? No problem.

You're in a sandwich shop. So, start selling sandwiches. One for subway. Two for me. Another one for subway. And, two more for me.

Hell, that kind of raise would work out just fine for me. I'd be making an extra $50 every day, if not more. What about you, mr subway franchise owner? Is that the raise you promised me?

Trust me, one deal like that, and mr subway would start making sure he paid what he actually promised people. That is, if he actually had any restaurant left after I got done selling sandwiches. Hell, if you pissed me off enough, I'd sell the oven that bakes the rolls. The cash register. The soda machine. They'd walk in to an empty building if I was really angry over my pay.

Whenever you are faced with a situation where somebody's trying to cheat you, always do them one better.

Once they lose hundreds, if not thousands, I guarantee they'll never, ever cheat their employees ever again.

It's Only Subway

AUTHOR: Dawn - (U.S.A.)

To the original poster. As a mother, I can understand one wanting to protect their child and I would just let your daughter handle her next job on her own. You want to help your daughter be the best she can and thats ok but sometimes we as parents over step our boundaries. Its okay. Lesson learned. Judging by the witch that responded you did your daughter a huge favor. You dont want her working around a bunch of ignorant people like the person that responded. Believe it or not retalliation is a big no no the bad part is that this dizzy dame was dumb enough to admit. I would copy and send it to their main headquarters. Retalliation is grounds for dismissal. I have seen managers lose their cushy jobs over situations such as these. If your daughter did something wrong thats one thing but she didnt. Either way your daughter is better off away from that place nine times out of ten the same people that are there now will be there 10 years from now.

Now who's job was it again?

AUTHOR: Miranda - (U.S.A.)

I'm sorry, but all I am hearing is how involved you were with your daughter's job... so who again worked there? You or her? If she had a problem with the staff, hours, job duties, or pay it is her responsibility to handle these issues as an adult. You did say she was 18 which legally entitles her to be an adult whether her mental state permits it or not. Subway (or any other employer for that matter) is not entitled to give YOU any information regarding someone else's pay and evaluation information. They have actually opened themselves up to a lawsuit just by doing so. While I do not agree that the raise should have been on the check like it was agreed upon, did you ever stop to get the other side of the problem or just charge in, sword drawn to fight your daughter's fight for her. As noble as it is to protect your baby she is going to have to grow up at some point and live her own life without you butting in, especially regarding matters such as these were you certainly don't belong. Just because your daughter comes home crying saying that they did the evaluation and didn't get her raise doesn't make it her employer's fault, maybe your daughter didn't deserve the raise. Raises are a privilage and a token of gratitude, not a right of passage. You probably also didn't stop to think that maybe your daughter was being weeded out of the store BECAUSE OF YOUR ACTIONS! I can guarantee that is why she got the crap jobs and hours. They were absolutely trying to get her to quit since they didn't have any "real" reason to fire her other than her mother is making everyone's life there a living h@ll. You are actually the one who cost your daughter her job. Next time let her fight her own battles.
