In August I signed on as a vendor with this antique mall. Rented a 6' locking display case to sell my goods. I am the owner of a nice collection of coins, comic books and assorted collectibles. One key concern was the possibility of theft. The owner assured me that they had video surveillance and there employees were checked at night when they left the premises. Well after selling some of my goods in August and September things were looking pretty good. Went in one day to bring more merchandise and suddenly realized that two gold coins were missing from my display case. They were inside a showcase that was inside of the other showcase. It is apparent that they must have been either stolen by a direct employee of the facility or the employee showing the goods was so dumb that they let someone into a locked showcase and opened up another locked case inside and were so easily distracted that a person took the two coins without the employee.
Well after spending some time with the owner and telling her about the missing coins, I was then told our video cameras are only above the front door. (great I was led to believe there would be some recourse should something get stolen and then nothing) No video surveillance, no nothing. Then I come to find out a Comic Book I had priced at $875 was also missing! A Batman #40 that was graded by cgc. Now how could a customer have not only taken two gold coins out of a showcase that was inside a locked showcase and then also make there way out with a graded comic book! It had to be an employee working there, or the employees there are just so dumb and oblivious that how could anyone trust to put there goods on display at this facitility. BEWARE if you choose to become a vendor at this antique mall, there is definitively a crook amongst them.
