My wife and I recenly attended a sales presentation at Stormy Point Village in Branson, Mo. for what was supposed to be a 90 min. sales pitch to buy into their timeshare package. That meeting turned into 5 HRS, from 2-7 p.m. on August 11th of this year. After a tour of the complex and several false promises (found out days later) they hooked us with a frantic, high pressured, offer ends today proposal. Knowing better, we bought it. Since that time, we have researched this company, Summerwinds Resort Services, LLC and have found 100's of complaints and numerous red flags which we did not know about before, regarding past and present owners. We were not informed or aware of a rescission period of 5 days to cancel, told $299 would be all we would have to pay for an exchange week at any of their 43 resorts anytime we wanted, they would help sell the unit if we ever decided to do so, no maintenance fee if we didn't use it during the year, and on and on. We feel this is a breach of contract and the contract is null and void due to the Implied covenant of good faith and fair dealings. All we want is to have our contract cancelled and our money refunded. Guarantee we have learned our lesson and will NEVER fall for this ever again. But there are so many other people in the same boat as us, that not only are their sales tactics unethical, but are illegal. One step I have personally taken is to start a petition at Change.Org that consumers, like ourselves, can sign and with enough signatures be sent to proper authorities within the state and federal government. What they are doing is pure fraud and something has got to be done about it.
