My original mortgage company was Suntrust from 2006-2008. Due to 2 layoffs and my son's medical, my home went into foreclosure. Never was I offered any means of help. I could never get ahold of my rep or anyone at Suntrust to discuss this matter. It wasn't until I found the corporate emails of VPs did something finally happen but definitey not in my favor. They did stop the foreclosure, but not witout over $10,000 worth of attorney fees that were tacked onto my loan. They also put me on some loan modification where the payments fluctuated very few years. Having no job, and a son that was homebound, I took the modification. Shortly afterwards, Suntrust sold my loan to Litton, who refused to accept the modification and immediately put my home into foreclosure even tho I had not gotten behind on the modification payments. So they made me go thru the entire process of modification again. In 2009, my loan was sold once again to Greentree. Greentree has spent the last 2-3 years sending me payment statements that are not consistent from month to month yet when I try to contact them for questions, they send me to their foreclosure division. I have NEVER been late and have even provided every bank statement showing my monthly payments, yet Greentree refuses to listen or read these documents. I get at least one letter a week showing I'm in foreclosure. My son has since graduated from high school so Id like to sell the house and get something smaller but my personal bank has told me the enormous UNNEEDED attorney fees and the the lack of credit bureau reporting has reaked havoc on my ability to get out from under this home and move on. It al started w/ Suntrust and has snoballed since then.
