False Accusations
AUTHOR: SuperStorage-Paso Robles - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, February 17, 2013
Rick L. has made repeated threats that he would try to inflict economic harm on us if we did not concede to his demands, which are totally unjustified. We have made a sincere effort to resolve his complaints and reviewed his account several times, even making several adjustments in his favor, yet Rick L has so far refused to honor his contractual agreement for services rendered.
SuperStorage has been in business for over 23 years with multiple facilities and we simply could not survive if we acted anything like what Rick L has claimed. Check us out for yourself before being misled, by him or his aliases. We are reasonable, helpful people and we want to earn and keep your business. For your own benefit, pick up the phone and call us or come by for a visit and discover for yourself who we are.
It is a shame that this kind of abuse of the public forum and public trust can and does occur. However, we have faith that the online community will see the truth and remove these bogus postings and that reviewers too will see the thinly veiled commentary for what it is.
If you are interested in reading on, I have addressed each of Rick Ls comments below.
Thank you for reading my post.
Sincerely,
John, SuperStorage
1. We are not dishonest. We hold ourselves to the highest standard of ethics and service, which we have provided to Rick L
2. We did not hurt him financially. We offered and delivered a move-in special, then reduced his rent after the move-in special expired to accommodate him. He then asked if he could move to a cheaper and smaller unit. We accommodated his request.
3. They steal your personal belongings. We have not stolen his personal belongings! They are intact in his unit, with his lock and our over lock. My staff and I have no interest in his personal belongings, except that we keep them safely stored, which they are.
4. Their automated machine steals yoir money Our automated machine does not steal your money! It uses the same cash receiver that any banks ATM uses. It accurately counts the money it receives and posts it to the account which was logged into. Rick L made a payment at our kiosk and was upset that it does not give change. The difference was posted to his account as a credit.
5. Derinder [Direnda] she lies to the owner and says you havent paid and she pockets the cash This is simply false. If you pay cash, it is immediately entered into the computer and a paper and/or email receipt is generated. Once that occurs, the transaction cannot be reversed and there is an audit trail. Do you really think Rick L (or anyone for that matter) would make a cash payment and not ask for a receipt?
6. Didnt have the common courtesy to return my calls Our management team has been in regular contact with Rick L. He insisted that I call him within hours or he would sue us and engage in a cyber attack and report us to the State Attorney Generals office and the BBB, all of which he has done. Personally, I would never respond to such an extortion laden demand, nor would I expect anyone to do so.
7. they are trying to auction my unit We are processing Rick Ls account for auction because he has not paid his rent. We are treating Rick Ls unit just the same as we treat any delinquent account and the same as most self storage operations would do. We take no joy in auctioning units and would much prefer to have a paying customer. It is our last resort when a customer does not pay and is the method of eviction for self storage as governed by law. For the record, by law, we are not allowed to profit by or from the sale of a customers unit. We are only entitled to the actual rent, late fees and collections fees which are owed. Any proceeds from an auction above that amount must be returned to the tenant. So there is no incentive beyond eviction and collection of what is owed to conduct an auction.
8. after they changed the pricing I agreed to Rick L claims that we changed the rent from what he agreed to false. On his first unit, we lowered his rent. On his second unit, he asked for a move in special and was informed that our policy is that move in specials are for new customers only. We gave him a discounted rent rate considering he was an existing tenant and he agreed by signing the rental agreement at that rate. No rate change has occurred since.
